  1. Has anyone else been accepted to the MSN-DNP (Leadership) program beginning in Spring of '23? Looking to connect before the program start in January.
  2. I joined the Army with no medical experience and was trained as an LPN. Many of those in my cohort were also new to the medical field. We made it through by leaning on each other, offering support, and as corny as it sounds, by believing in ourselves. Many of those individuals went on to become RNs, NPs, and a handful went to Med school. You worked hard to get into the program. You were selected for this program. You are capable. Have faith in yourself!
  3. Hi CuriousRei! I followed a bit of your advice while trying to get into the ELM program at PLU. Would you be up for emailing me at [email protected] to give me some pointers on how to prepare for the UW PMHNP application process?
  4. The cost of most direct entry programs are absurd. My tuition is covered by the military, if I was coming out of pocket...I would have just stayed in business management or I would have pursued the adn route. I think Vanderbilt is 100k for theirs but not 100% sure.
  5. For a moment I thought that I had written this post ?... I applied to both the ABSN and the Direct entry programs. Either one will get you where you want to be unless you want to move on to NP. If NP is your goal you may as well just do the direct entry. Anywho, I am currently in the ELMSN program at Pacific Lutheran University. I am glad that I went the direct entry route. After a few years of bedside experience I feel that I would have more opportunities for leadership positions than if I had chosen ABSN.
  6. Fibroblast - How can a non-nurse meet the basic qualifications of this job? And if one of the basic requirements isn’t holding a nursing license then that may need to be the first item rectified in all of this.
  7. I came on here to give my two cents as a prior 68WM6 (title before 68c) but honestly the information given by the previous responses is spot on. You are both awesome for taking the time to provide all of that info.
  8. Yayyyy!! I’m so happy to hear it!! Congratulations!
  9. Nursing school is just one of those hit or miss things. During my LPN training I met some great people and I met some people that really made me question the profession. As some others have stated it is definitely something you just have to deal with. Whenever you experience something negative, simply make a mental note of it. It will help to shape who you become as a nurse. You wont treat anyone the way you have been treated. Its just a learning process all around. To all of you who have taken the time out of your day to come at these questions with an over abundance of negativity, YOU are dragging the nursing profession down. I can only imagine how your patients must feel when you respond to the questions that they have. Not everyone wants to be babied when they make these inquiries. Sometimes its ok to just say, Nursing school is going to suck at times but keep your head up and you'll get through it. You were a student at one point and I'm sure that encouragement went a lot farther than receiving a snarky response to your questions. To the OP, You got this!.....and hide your pens because nurses like me will snatch them up all day : )
  10. Hi. I received my welcome packet on the 18th. I've been to PLU for my undergraduate and graduate education. It's is an absolutely beautiful campus. The surrounding area is a little questionable but I've always been a commuter student so it wasn't a big deal. Class sizes are small although I know that nursing courses tend to be a bit larger than average. Overall I love the school and would recommend it to anyone.
  11. 31st was the deadline I was given, which is a bit stressful since I wasn't expecting an answer until feb time frame.
  12. @wonkabar í ½í¸‚ My last name starts with a B so it's possible!
  13. Thank you! Yep, it went straight to my inbox!
  14. Just received my acceptance email! Super excited!
  15. I was wondering that myself. I also submitted before the priority deadline but received an email today from NursingCas stating my app was once again verified.
  16. Hi Smcshane! I'll be on the journey with you! I submitted my application yesterday so now I wait lol.
