  1. Horrible day! Need reassuring!

Are you all by yourself? Or do they have an aide that can help you with coverage in the event of overflow or an emergency? Even something as simple as someone making the calls for you (by your side).
  2. Is this a smart tactic in huddle...

Great point. It's those harsh realities that sit with you. Over time, I'm sure we've all heard of situations and outcomes that we wouldn't have normally considered possible. And as others pointed out, it's all about delivery in the context of teachin...
  3. Case Study

Any update on how this turned out?
  4. CVS Minute Clinic interview process

Close friend of mine worked in a Minute Clinic for a few years. She loved it but left for maternity and loved that more, so she never went back. Lol. It's a "one man show." So, you're on your own which she liked the independence. Her only gripe was w...
  5. Mid-summer they called us in for a meeting. There were a couple of people from each floor plus a bunch of bigwigs (CCO, CDO, etc.). Our system has a few hundred facilities, so the people in suits now have this group of us using the American Health Co...

  8. Favorite Thermometer? Recommendations?

    Same here.
  9. I Passed!!!

Great book, btw. As far as a read, the writing style might strike your fancy or not. But even if it doesn't, I can personally attest that there were concepts in there that have been a game changer for me. Best of luck!
  10. Success story!

So happy for you! Not an easy thing to do - MAKING and INVESTING the time to troubleshoot an individual patient problem. Kudos to you!
  11. Anybody else dealing with pertussis?

Critical point here. In addition to the importance of maintaining full population participation, as well following through on full administration schedule for vax treatments, the efficacy of the vax itself attributes to its success. There's a lot of ...
  12. Joining the group!

So wonderful to see other nurses with diverse backgrounds to share with! Welcome!
  13. Can't handle the ICU

Underwater with a brick tied to your foot isn't a good way to learn how to swim. If you're that overly uncomfortable with what you're doing, it's best to take the transfer before a misjudgement happens at someone else's expense.
