Prereq Scheduling Question

I am also a wife and mother. I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old. I stay home but still don't have time to take a lot of classes at once. I am taking A&P I in the spring and plan on pairing it with PSY-Human Growth and Development or my Humanities elective. The A&P I plan on taking at night but the other course I am going to take online. I have no doubt that it will be fine. I definetly was not going to take Intro to Chem. with A&P!

It makes me feel so much more at ease to read all these posts from wives and mothers going back to school...I know that I am not alone! I am thinking that pairing A&P with another class should be ok as long as it is paired with a relatively easy class. I think I am going to give it a shot and just do my best...just a little time management!

I was a sociology major so this may not be accurate but...

Intro sociology is really, painfully easy. It is basically Common Sense 101. I bet you could pull off doing A&P I, and then soc and philosophy online all at once to be honest.

And if you ever need help, I am game. I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE sociology.

Thanks Jbeau! The last time I took Sociology was in high school (I know that really doesn't compare) but I really enjoyed it. :) I hope you're right...I love painfully easy!

I took psychology along with anatomy and I swear I hardly focused on psych at all and got an A. This along with working, having a 5 year old son and being pregnant with my second child.. I say go for it.

I think pairing it with another class is fine, however my best advice would be too, take it slow your first semester so you see what you can juggle with all that you have going on. As you get in the swing of things and get a feel for all the work required you can add more.

I have 3 kids and just finished up my pre reqs. I took API with chemistry and AP2 with micro, I got A's in all but it was a ton of work! I would have done that had I not taken some other classes 1 by 1 and got a feel for how much time I could study and how to go about doing it.

I would probably take sociology with A&P...I tried a philosophy class (not required but thought it would be interesting) and I dropped it in the first week. Then again, the professor is sort of a turd...

PS- I work full time and have a 6 month old daughter. I'm also chipping away at pre-rqs so join the club! Maybe we should request to start our our forum here...for mommies returing to school!!!

It all depends on you and how bad you want it, how much time you will spend studying. I would say, for AP, you will need 1-2 hours every day. I also have two kids, 12 and 3 years old. I work full time and I am taking algebra with AP and I am doing just fine.
