I'm about to graduate this spring and have to decide whether to buy a school pin or not. Honestly......what % of guys actually wear their pin? Where do they wear it? Am I supposed to go to the pinning ceremony even if I don't order one? That whole jewelry schtick is SO not me...I don't even wear my wedding ring.

Hey Ken,
Honestly man the choice is really yours. But when and if you do wear that pin you are showing not just yourself but everyone that you were successful in getting that pin. Be proud to wear it as you earned it!!!!! I am in school now for nursing and plan on getting it just because it's something I worked hard for! But like I said the choice is yours!

I'm afriad I'm loose it if I wear it. But I have it as a token of my experience in nursing school and my pride at graduation. :)

I'm so-so about graduation--it's only an Associates Degree, after all--but I'm pretty gung-ho about the pinning. This has been a long, hard slog, and I want that pin, even if I only wear it once!
But that's me, and I can respect other opinions.
This isn't going to be like the Navy SEALS thing they showed on 60 Minutes, is it?

I don't get the whole pinning thing. Seems rather overly-feminine to me - like wearing those nursing hats. I'll be happy going to graduation, but I have no interest in this pining stuff.

I graduated several years ago and I wear my pin on my name badge. It fits nicely and I get several compliments and questions about it.

I plan on getting a pin and attending the ceremony. I mean if I go and dont enjoy it oh well, but if later on I think about it and would regret it. I want the pin because it said " I made it, I finished this course and am ready to go on" I dont know about where i would wear it. It would probably sit on a self or something at home. I would be mine though like 3rdshiftguy and nursemike said, "its a token of thier experince and something to say I did it" the choice is yours though. thats just my 2 cents

I never bought a pin, and I'm glad - it would have been a waste of money for me, because I'd never use it. I did buy a ring, however, but now I can't find it.

I wear the pin, to me it does not look that feminine.
Why would the pin make you look feminine?
I think I'll pass on the pin and the ceremony. My diploma and nursing license will do very nicely as momentos thank you. Same goes for the Sigma Theta Tau jewelry/accessories, except for a ring..everything's feminine. Now, if they had a nice buck-knife or cool holster for my .45...now that would be worth looking in to.
