Peth test

Experience please.

I have been sober for 6 months and had a slip up 8/8. I had 3 glasses of wine and a shot after being sober 6 months. I got a white chip and have started over. Well I was required to take a Peth test 8/22 14 days later. Do you think this would show up? I know it says 3-4 weeks for heavy drinking, but it was one night w 6 months of prior abstinence.

PLEASE do not respond with a lecture or anything besides experience with Peth testing. I know the mistake I’ve made and am already really beating myself up

Hang in there. You can do this. I am sorry you are going through this. I am pulling for you!

Hi guys!! Needing help much the same. I had a urine test 8/30 and it got flagged for diluted. I got told I needed to complete a peth test for my next exam. I consumed 2 shots of alcohol on 08/31 and have had nothing since. I’ve been researching my butt off and have myself freaked out. Can any RNs tell me how their test was collected dried blood or a tube and if you passed with drinking alcohol.. won’t be drinking anymore until monitoring is over that’s for sure!

I had two drinks three days before and it was positive and that’s after not drinking for weeks

Hi Marybeth! Im sorry to hear that. I’m hoping since it’s been almost 2 weeks and I’ve donated blood mine will be negative. I’m really hoping this is the case. If it is I will never have another drink again in the program that’s for sure! I’m not sure why I even drank in the first place.

Marybeth was yours dry blood or a blood tube?

I wouldn't chance it ever again regardless of the results. It is just not worth losing your license over.

I hope it works out for you!

Absolutely never drinking again until off the program this stress is not worth it

Woohoooooooooo..
