online RN to BSN

Has anyone done any of the online RN to BSN programs?? I would like to pursue my bachelors but have three tiny children, not a lot of spare time, and all the other stuff that gets in the way of life. Can anyone make any recommendations for a good program and anything else you can come up with??

The University of Massachusetts Boston has an RN-BSN program done online. You dont have to live in Boston to enroll, and 99% of the classes are actualy online. You are given 42 credits for your license once you finish the first nursing course. Of course there are prereqs, but check the website fo more info. http://www.cnhs.umb.edu.

I just finished the University of Phoenix online ADN to BSN and did it in 18 months. Not too hard, just takes discipline to sit at the computer. Its 100% online except that there is a 110 hours of clinical which is scattered throughout - all very doable with kids and job, etc. Good luck.

Are these programs recognized by other states?? I am in New York - would something from AZ or wherever be a valid degree here?? Not sure how that all works.

U of P is definitely recognized. Do you have your RN already? These programs are for RNs that just wish to get their BSN.

Congrats on finishing your BSN Suzanne! Was the math component difficult through U of P?

I don't have my BSN. I actually got my MBA thru them a long time ago in Phoenix. I am planning on attending there for my doctorate within the next year or two.

I have never found math hard, actually took three terms of calculus in college. I have a BS in Biology with a major in physiology.

What kind of clinical (community? management?) and how is it arranged? Are you on your own or with a preceptor? I have never understood the concept of requiring clinical for people who are already RNs. It seems redundant to me.
