Feb 23, 20224 yr My 15+ years at the bedside is coming to an end in less than one week. I feel a sense of relief that this nightmare will soon be over for me. I start a new job in a few weeks and I’m never looking back. I’m excited to start a new chapter of my life.
Feb 23, 20224 yr Experts Wishing you best wishes as you change positions often surprised by the new nursing knowledge gained to enrich your nursing skills.
Feb 23, 20224 yr Congratulations! I can feel your excitement on this post. Anyways, like everybody else, do you have a new job? and what is it? what field of nursing?
Feb 24, 20224 yr Author I will be working as a transfer/admissions nurse. Basically, it is similar to a bed desk nurse except I will be transferring patients from one hospital to another if they need a higher level of care and such. I will be working from home, although there is always a slight chance that we will move back into the office. I feel so blessed to have come across this position and I’m looking forward to starting a new journey.

I hope you enjoy your new position. It's very important for the nurses at the bedside to have someone with an understanding of the patients, the acuity, and the whole process, working in these positions. Glad you found something you're looking forward to. Best of luck!
Mar 1, 20224 yr Congratulations!!! That's absolutely amazing! I wish you the absolute best of Luck and I'm sure you'll love it. How on earth did you do 15 years? 3 years and I'm trying to make it to 1 year before I get the heck out! I would literally end if I had to do even close to that.

Hell, I don’t know how there are bedside nurses that have put in 20, 30 or 40 years. I guess I did what I had to do when my kids were babies. It was the best way to work around my husband’s schedule. Now that they are getting a little older, I felt it was the perfect time to leave. I hope you find something that works for you as well.
