ON-line NP programs

I am not. I am currently waiting to hear from Seton Hall. They won't give me answer until I complete my BSN which is May. It looks like I will probably start in the fall. Tha

is anyone enrolled in an online psychiatric nursing program? i will be completing my bsn this year and i am looking toward pursing my psychiatric nurse practitioner.

The online NP programs I'm familiar with are: St. Louis, Stony Brook, Seton Hall, Ball State and Liberty University (only acute care and community health). However, I've limited my search to programs that accept BA, RN students, so I'm sure I've left some out!

I'm interested in learning about Ohio State's program. I didn't see anything on the website about it being online, but I may have simply missed it. What have you heard about the program?

Oh, also Gonzaga University, but they require several campus visits during 600-level coursework. I can't do it with the price of a plane ticket these days! :)

This may be a really obvious question....I was wondering if you enroll in an online NP practitioner and do not live in the state that it's based in, you do have to pay out-of-state tuition, correct? For example, U. of South Alabama's NP program.

Usually, you do pay out-of-state tuition. I think I heard that NEbraska Methodist University charges in-state for the online program, but I've never heard of that anywhere else. Some programs offer an online tuition that is a bit less than the normal out-of-state rate (although significantly more than the in-state rate). You'll just have to ask each program individually.

Ohio State's program is not online. They offer a few classes online, but the majority are classroom based. Just FYI.

I don't think ISU has an Adult NP program--only FNP and adult health. You might want to check out Ball State (also in Indiana) Part time, no on campus required, and no thesis required--only optional if you like root canals. I think its $360 per unit at 48 units.

It looks like you have to have an MSN in something already to do their online FNP program.

I'm attending University of Southern Indiana's online ACNP program. It's a good program and accredited. The webiste is www.usi.edu for more info.

I am looking into this program for FNP. Just wanted to know what you think about the school. Any ideas & comments helpful. Do you have to attend campus at any time?
