Nvcc fall 2016

Hi,

I just need some insight from all of you...I am planning to apply for nursing at NVCC for fall 2016. I have finished all my prerequisites and general requirement with the gpa of 3.7 but my teas score is on the lower side. I still have two chances to take it again but the student services have told me that since I passed I can't take it again. Is it true? If I were to take it again, will the nursing team take my highest score for consideration? Any help will be appreciated! 😊

Anyone get anything today?

Nada.

Hi everyone,

I also applied for the traditional nursing program for fall 2016. I am still waiting for the email but have not received anything yet. I'm so nervous. I hope everyone gets in!

On the MEC Facebook page, they replied to someone saying that we should be receiving an email anytime in the next two weeks. Was hoping that it would be by tomorrow, but I guess not. I wonder when we'll hear back regarding our acceptance if we've yet to receive the email regarding our application being in process. Ahh, I guess patience is key! Good luck again, everyone.

I called student services this morning; "since you sent application by certified mail you will get a signature return receipt"(we received your application). So no need for confirmation email. they also told me that acceptance letter will be sent in three to four week from now. I hope this information help with the anxiety...

Thanks for calling and checking! Certified mail tells us if they got it or not but not if the application is complete - I'm hoping we will get that email (letting us know everything we needed for a complete application was received) within the next week. 3 to 4 weeks to hear about acceptance seems like forever!!

As mentioned above, they did reply to someone in a comment saying that they would email finish sending emails over the next two weeks and that the email would let you know if your application was forwarded to the Nursing board for consideration or otherwise. I also know that for previous years, the nursing applicants did not receive their acceptances until about the 29th of June or so. This wait is the hardest part because it's SO easy to psych ourselves out. I know that I've been waiting since March 29th. Hopefully, we get emails sooner!

How were we supposed to get the return receipt? I mean i did send my application certified mail, and I tracked it to ensure it was delivered but didn't receive any return receipt?

The USPS should have sent you back the little green card with the signature of the person who signed for it. It's not the biggest thing so it can be quite easy to lose in the mail. I almost missed mine!

I just got a call from student services and they said that as long as I sent in my application before the deadline, the manilla folder should not be a problem. Phew! I am so relieved.

Seeing this is SUCH a relief. In my mind, I kept thinking they wouldn't even consider my application for not being in a manila folder.

I also sent mine as Certified Mail and got my return receipt in the mail with a signature from a staff member in the student services office that confirmed it was received, but as someone mentioned above, it still wouldn't make sense for those that sent their application through certified mail to not receive the email regarding their application status due to the email that we will be getting will include if whether or not your application is being forwarded to the Nursing Department for acceptance decisions, or if your application was incomplete with missing items. Therefore, I am hoping whoever sent it through Certified Mail will still be receiving an email in the next two weeks.
