Nvcc fall 2016

Hi,

I just need some insight from all of you...I am planning to apply for nursing at NVCC for fall 2016. I have finished all my prerequisites and general requirement with the gpa of 3.7 but my teas score is on the lower side. I still have two chances to take it again but the student services have told me that since I passed I can't take it again. Is it true? If I were to take it again, will the nursing team take my highest score for consideration? Any help will be appreciated! 😊

Hey everyone, I found an old thread from last years applicants and their deadline was May 21st, and they had received confirmation emails that their applications were being processed on May 28th. Which is only like a week after. So I'm hoping for us by this weekend we will hear something, because by then it will have been two weeks!

Hello everyone,

I am also on the same page. My TEAS scores are not impressive by far but i have 3.9 GPA. I am hoping that is enough to get me in. I applied 2 weeks ago and haven't gotten any response. Please keep me updated about the status of your application as I am very nervous. Thank you.

That would be fabulous!!

Hi everyone,

I have also applied for Fall 16'! This post seemed like it was the most active. I've been following NOVA's MEC Facebook page and they posted that they sent out the first set of notifications on May 27th. Due to Memorial Day, the offices will be closed Monday. So, good luck to all this week!

eeekk! okay thanks I will be looking out this week for mine!

So i'm posting here because I'm worried that my application won't be considered for admission due to a misreading on my significant other's behalf, my paperwork for the application was not sent in a manila folder. He read manila envelope. So hopefully by some miracle I still get in. I've gotten A's on all my prerequisites and have completed all of my corequisites. My TEAs scores were in the high 70s/low 80s range. Good luck to everyone!

I hope that is not the case. I sent my applications in a manila envelope too. Hopefully they will care more about the paper work all being in order, as well as prerequisites and TEA's scores, and not the way the application was sent in.

Has anyone heard anything from NOVA? I have been checking my email ten times a day waiting to hear anything at this point.

I didn't send mine in a manilla folder either, I used a manilla envelope instead. I hope that won't be a big deal. I think I am going to call student services to see if that is a problem. I haven't gotten anything from NOVA either. I am so anxious and I just want to see the confirmation that my application is being processed. I saw on their Facebook page that they have started sending out notifications this past Friday. Fingers crossed. Good luck to all of us.

I did put all of my application documents in a Manila file folder, because it specified on the last page of the nursing app that they wanted your name and student ID to be on the file folder tab. I would definitely contact student services to see if that will not be an issue! I'm guessing that it won't be a major issue seeing as how your name and student ID was on the first page of the nursing application anyway. I'm hoping we'll get some sort of notification this week regarding our applications, as I have also been checking my email many times since they posted on their fb page that they would send out the first set of notifications this past Friday. Good luck everyone!

Has anyone been able to find out if not including your application in a manila folder is a problem? I tried calling student services but couldn't get through to anyone. I also haven't received any notifications and I mailed my application March 22nd.

If you keep getting redirected to their voicemail at the student services office, I would definitely make a trip over to the MEC campus to inquire, if possible. This happened to me when I had a few questions I wanted to get clarified, and I evidently just ended up going to campus to ask my questions in person, as their phone kept redirecting me to voicemail. Also, even if you sent your application shortly after the application period started, we would not be receiving any notification regarding our applications until AFTER the application period ended (May 14th). Which is why now we are all very anxiously waiting to get an email regarding our applications being processed. Here's to hoping we'll all get an email sometime this week! Fingers crossed.

I just got a call from student services and they said that as long as I sent in my application before the deadline, the manilla folder should not be a problem. Phew! I am so relieved.
