Nvcc fall 2016

Hi,

I just need some insight from all of you...I am planning to apply for nursing at NVCC for fall 2016. I have finished all my prerequisites and general requirement with the gpa of 3.7 but my teas score is on the lower side. I still have two chances to take it again but the student services have told me that since I passed I can't take it again. Is it true? If I were to take it again, will the nursing team take my highest score for consideration? Any help will be appreciated! 😊

I graduate with Science A.S. From NOVA with 2.9. But with the pre req alone, I have like 3.7. Since I earned A with them... And I know the feeling... I just want to know if they received it. Hopefully we get in ):

Please let me know if you got in! If so, what was your cumulative GPA and TEAS scores? Also, is your GPA based on the mandatory prereqs only or the last 12 credits you took? For example, some of the prereqs I took recently are not required for entry to the program.

We won't hear from them about our admission to this program until after the deadlines...we will probably hear from them in third week of June. I haven't received any emails.

BEST OF LUCK!

The GPA is either/or (whichever is higher), mine just happens to be pre-reqs.

I am applying for the Fall 2016 program too. I have been so nervous about getting an email that my application was accepted. Due to error on my husbands part (he mailed my application and did not realize he had to save the tracking number) I was starting to panic that it had not been received. What were your guys TEAS scores if you don't mind me asking? I did well in the math and reading comprehension, but my grammar section was bad, and I am worried that will affect my chances of getting in.

Hey guys - i posted on another thread but this one looks like it has more views. I applied to the nursing program as well and am so anxious.. I heard that the co-reqs are what could push you over the edge (a student who does better in the TEAS but does not have co-reqs will be ranked lower than someone who has a lower TEAS score but taken some co-reqs)...

If the co-reqs will help push you over the edge that will help me out a lot. I think I have finished all the non-nursing classes for the degree offered at NOVA.

I think it will definitely help you.. Also just saw your post about your teas scores - mine were actually the same, did well on the reading and math but my grammar was eh..

Hi all! I have also applied for the traditional nursing program track. Does anyone know when we should be receiving any type of notification regarding our application being processed? I believe we should be receiving an email, but I have yet to get any sort of communication. Has anyone else received anything?

I am freaking out now, because before I mailed my application whoever I talked to at the MEC center told me certified mail wasn't a must, as long as it was posted by the USPS. I priority mailed mine and tracked it and it said it delivered. Now I'm nervous it won't get looked at because it wasn't delivered via certified mail!

As long as it showed it was delivered, you should be fine! On the last page of the nursing program application with the instructions on how to mail out the application, it says "applications MAY be sent out via Certified/Return Receipt Mail using USPS." Since it states MAY instead of MUST, it is an option of personal preference whether you would like to send it out that way or not, but not mandatory. I only sent out my app via certified mail/return receipt to get the return receipt signed by an actual staff member of the student services office at MEC as proof of delivery. But do not worry, your application will still be looked at!
