How often do you get raises, and what percentage or how much of a raise do you get? Just curious how it works from place to place.

Once a year. In the past few years 0-2%. I am currently making LESS than I made last year because of the backwards way my facility calculates shift differentials. Along with these 2% raises has come a more than 100% increase in health insurance in these years (I used to pay $30 every other week, I currently pay around $80) so what I actually bring home is considerably less every year.

Our facility has a maximum raise of 2%, so I usually get 1.5-2% every year.

We didn't get raises for a couple of years, but this year they did performance-based raises from 0-2%.

My per diem wages have been the same for the last 10 years.
Eleven years ago the per diem wages were raised so the hospital was able to have a large enough staff of per diem nurses to eliminate the need for agency or travel nurses.
The economy took a downturn and our wages have remained the same.

As a government employee, I have not had a raise in two years. We seem to be the public's focus of ire and envy lately, so there will be no raises for us.

I work two jobs. My job at the rehabilitation hospital does not give pay raises to PRN/per diem staff, and since I am PRN, I have not gotten a raise since becoming employed with them nearly two years ago. I also work at a LTC facility owned by a major corporation that issues raises once yearly. The raise can be anywhere from 0 to 5 percent, but people typically get 2 percent or less.
So this is why it is a big deal to be offered 1.10 per hour less than I make now. kit will take years to make that up.
I thought it was your dream job though?
Money talks and my husband is not happy about the pay cut and the health insurance is more expensive. He is self employed so we need the insurance and it is a lot more expensive. I do want the job, but I might have to say no.
Ah I see.

We get a raise every year, about 4.5 percent. But I'm in a union.
