Hello everyone! I am trying to see if anyone knows good websites to order nursing books from at a reasonable price. I will be attending Ohio University Zanesville for the Lpn to Rn program August 26th. Thanks in Advance!

Chegg.com & Half.com are where I got most of mine. Chegg was probably the cheapest but some of them weren't available there.
You can also try Amazon if all else fails. They usually have good prices too.

Cheap Textbooks - Price Compare College Textbooks - Used, New, Rental & eTextbooks
It is a search engine for all the book websites. It shows all the prices for the book from different booksellers. Also shows the cost of their rentals. just type in the isbn title or author.
Kind of like Travelocity for textbooks.

Buying the previous version saves quite a bit of money something like 85%.

... and if one can believe the many posts on the Student Nurse forum on this topic (which see, by using the Search box at the top of this page), can get you in trouble if your faculty uses the changes in the new version, if the old version doesn't update evidence-based information on medical or nursing diagnosis, and a host of other things ...
You only have one chance to do it right to be an undergraduate in your professional education. Don't cut corners.

I think this is a GREAT idea as long as you double check with the instructor first. Most have absolutely no problem with it, as the newer editions are sometimes only a change in page #. And most of my instructors understood about trying to save money so they didn't care as long as we made sure that the case studies were the same and that sort of thing.

I used the previous edition as my main text in my nursing school. I found that I was able to follow along okay. The problem is that even the new books are about 10 years out of date. I like keeping my books to refer back too. Looking back I would have bought the newest release of the main text.

Barnes & Noble is having a textbook sale right now. The books I ordered from them yesterday were between 15% and 23% off. Amazon had the best price for my fundamentals and pharmacology books. I just go to a couple of different sites and then compare prices. Also, if any of your books are Elselvier, go to the Elselvier site and "purchase" one of the free resourses that go with the books. When you register and get the free resources they will send you a 20% coupon for book purchases from their site.

I purchased all current editions of the required books- all brand new (one was "like new"), and I still saved $250 by not going to the bookstore. I bought from eBay, Half.com, and Amazon. :-) All three worked wonders for my bank account!

Thanks for the great advice!
You're welcome!! Also, many times the instructors know their is no difference and will even recommend an old edition.
Good luck!

I say Barnes & Noble via eBay, eBay itself, AND amazon! Those are my go tos! If you want to rent the two BEST and easiest rental sites are CollegeBookRenter.com (google for coupons they ALWAYS have them!) and Chegg.com! Always google for coupons from the site you plan on purchasing them from because more times than none there are some like free shipping or percentages off your purchase! Happy shopping!
