Nurses' Week

Kid from the news/media classroom came in to interview me for Nurses' Week! There's nobody in here. Two easy softball questions (Why is school nursing important?) and b-roll of me auscultating my clinic aide's lungs (from the back she looks like a student).

Day. Made.

5th grade teacher and student came in last Friday with a box full of handwritten/drawn/made cards for me and he told me who each one was from. Two pre-k students also came in with a giant construction paper bandaid with their names on a bunch of papers stapled in the middle. I am keeping the cards in my drawer to look at from time to time on the days that I think I can't make it through :inlove:

Some of the parents and grandparents that are nurses also have dropped by with goodies this week. Our media specialist and secretary both left gifts on my desk so not too bad this week. Teacher appreciation week is going on here as well, so I'm being included in all that too. Our lunch room staff has made some really yummy sweet treats for the teachers and they make sure I get a treat everyday also. Helps that we only have 10 days of school left.

Our district head nurse gave me a $15.00 gift card to a local liquor store:)

I'm crying at my desk a little. THAT is LOVE! Or at least, appreciation!

Received my stack of cards from students. If this were all I received this week, I would be ecstatic. Also got my dozen of chocolate covered strawberries for my wife and I from PO. Tomorrow my wife gets the spoils with a staff luncheon for Teachers'/ Nurses' week.

I posted this in another thread - but my counselor brought me down a big banner that said "Thank you Nurse *name* for all you do" and all the elementary had signed it. The cutest part is my son signed his name and then under it put "hi mom". Melts my heart!

:roflmao:

This made my day :)

My principal is buying me lunch tomorrow because yesterday we had a EMS call at the end of the day and she forgot to tell me not to bring a lunch.

The principal's adm assistant got me Dunks when she went out this AM and one of my coworkers got me a plant, but nothing from admin.
