Every week a letter goes out about things happening at the school. The letter this week documented some things happening in April & May such as, " Teachers Week". A huge list of things we could do to show appreciation for the teachers. was attached. My health clinic is never mentioned in the news letter nor was "Nurses Day". Am I being over sensitive today; I have a whole list of things I like too (insert child like laughter)?

Not surprised. You'll see that that issue has come up before in the SN threads.
National School Nurses Day is May 11. The week of May 12 usually is Nurses Week.
All the nurses here remember one another. It's a shame but many other places, incl hospitals & LTC are no longer recognizing Nurses specifically. They're just clumping everyone into one big group.
Sad.

I go back and forth about this. On the one hand, it's nice to be remembered. On the other, it can be a little patronizing for a professional to have a "day."

Not if you are being patronized with cake!
I find coffee mugs to be the gold standard...
Ha, who'm I kidding? I will get the cards from the Spec. Ed. kids, and that'll be it.
(It is actually more than enough. :) )

Mostly it is "Oh it's school nurse day?" We like the librarians are lost in the accolades. Someone sent a notice on our threads about librarian day, I sent her a bunch of funny memes. I don't think anyone else said/did a thing.
I went and hugged my Librarian. He didn't even know it was Librarian Day.
He still took the hug, though.
I looked for funny school nurse memes - Nada.

Last year my principal (who's mom is a nurse) actually said to me "It's nurse's week! I sent my mom flowers!" and still never said a word about it to me.
