In the latest information that I have just received: California is June, 2005, Vermont is March, 2005, and Nebraska is August, 2005.
So, Nebraska has moved into the Number #1 slot. These dates are always going to be changing.:)

Suzanne, you are talking about I-140 or I-485 processing date?
Which one is more important?
Those dates are for the I-140. Just trying to show that dates can vary between the processing centers and they can change who does things the fastest as well.

that's how long it takes to process I-140.
Vermont used to be the fastest, then California took the lead, and now the Number #1 spot belongs to Nebraska. The times are always changing for processing.

Can you please tell me which service center does Florida belong to? I have a friend in Florida she got approval just in 2 months.

I know someone who is now in florida and she went through Texas
Initial approval really doesn't mean much, the biggest issue is where the person is located and how long the wait is for an embassy interview there.
Getting approval is only the beginning of the process.
The girl herself is in Florida and she is going through AOS. She is not a nurse but her husband, who is a scientist filed the petition as a primary candidate. She told me that everything else was done but the green card is not issued because she doesn't have her birth certificate here in USA. Once she sends the birth certificate to the USCIS(or what) she will get her green card. And according to her it took only 6 weeks for the whole process. . She just came to USA in June last week on H4 . I heard that AOS can be filed only after 6 months of US stay. I wonder if it is possible...
Sorry, but the AOS can be filed after being in the US for sixty days. She can get her EAD and SSN#, but she will not have an actual green card. She still needs to go thru the process, but she can work with this.
If her husband is on an H-1, something isn't right that the green card would already be issued. It actually takes several years for that to go thru, only RNs are being expedited right now.
AOS just means Adjustment of Status, it is only a formality in the scheme of things. It doesn't grant you a green card, only permits for a change of status. The person still has to go thru the rest of the procedure.
When you actuay see the green card in her hand...............but the real question is when did her husband come over to the US? Was it before her?
If he came over a year or two before her, then yes it is possible, but if he just arrived in the US in June, on an H-4 visa, no AOS can be made for 60 days, then no such thing of a green card in three months. Just not done.
Thanks a lot Suzanne! for the clarification. In fact, she came later but her husband has been here for more than 5 years. May be that was the reason why things became easier for her.
