New Student!!!

Hi! I'm just starting some of my prereq's towards my nursing degree. I still have to take A&P1 and 2 and micro. Any tips for me on scheduling? Is harder if I take micro with A&P1 or should I take it by itself or with less difficult classes.

Any one have any tips to getting starting on this lovely road!! :-) I'm a little nervous! So all the help I can get would be great!

If anyone has taken the NET test do you have any tips on that?

Thanks!

Good luck. If you have three semester take them all separately. A&P is a tough class with lab. I wouldn't want to take two classes with labs, because it's run into your study time.

Good luck.

I agree! All 3 classes were pretty involved for me. These 3 classes count for the most points towards the nursing program at our school, so I made the most of it by focusing on these 3 by seperating them into 3 quarters and taking another easy class with each.

Thanks for your help. I have to take chemistry also, which would be a better science class with a lab to take that with? I was thinking A & P 2 cause I heard A & P 1 and micro were harder than A & P 2.

Thanks!

This just depends on how much of a load you are willing to take on and how well you do in sciences. Me, myself, and I took 1 science at a time with a PE or something light/non-science....call me wimpy! :p

Well I have never taken chemistry before so I do not know how hard it is. The only science class I have ever taken is General Biology so all of these science classes will be new for me.

Hmm... I still wouldn't encourage taking 2 sciences at 1 time, unless school and science comes easy to you.

I am driving an hour to school, and an hour back to make sure my Micro and and A&P 2 doesn't over lap.

I took A&P 1 mainly by itself, with only a 6 week Developmental psych class overlapping.

I took online/wintermester/maymester/ classes as well as taking summer courses so that I could concentrate 1 at a time.

I agree, unless sciences come easy to you, I wouldn't recommend taking them at the same time. However, like some will say, it has been done before....some make A's on all, some can't take the stress...

Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I won't take them together, I will spread them out!! I don't want to overwhelm myself and get myself all stressed out and quit or something. Thanks!

i took a&p 1, micro, and development, and then i took a&p2, chem, and nutrition. i also worked 30 hours per week, and did well in my classes. i am starting nursing school in august and got into a prestigious nursing program w/a very low acceptance rate. i truly believe my ability to handle a tough course load got me into school, so if you are normally do well in sciences, it may be worth a shot. i would email the professors who have taught the programs at your school and see what they think. good luck! ;)

I did A&P II & micro at the same time. I got an A in micro and a B in A&P II. I guess that it just depends how well you do in the area of science. Good luck with your scheduling.

I suggest that you do not take Micro with A&P 1 or A&P 2. Also, I got the study guide for the NET, and it was definitely worth it. I can't stress the following enough: STAY ON TOP OF YOUR READING FOR A&P 1, 2, AND MICRO. If you fall behind you will start to feel completely overwhelmed and won't know where to start. :uhoh3: You need to read and try your best to understand what you are going to be going over in class ahead of time. Then, whatever you don't understand, let your professor clear up. Good luck!
