i think it is absolutely horrible and self-centered to have so many children. the world is overpopulated and there are too few resources to support those that are currently alive. i am not saying people should not have children, but sixteen is appalling. i think if you have enough money to support that many children that you should consider giving to those who are unable to support the few that they have.

i took a&p 1, micro, and development, and then i took a&p2, chem, and nutrition. i also worked 30 hours per week, and did well in my classes. i am starting nursing school in august and got into a prestigious nursing program w/a very low acceptance rate. i truly believe my ability to handle a tough course load got me into school, so if you are normally do well in sciences, it may be worth a shot. i would email the professors who have taught the programs at your school and see what they think. good luck!

Hi, I took Micro, Human Development, and A&P1 last semester and this semester completed A&P2, Chem, and Nutrition. I worked 30-40 hours per week, and was initiallly told by the school counselors that I would fail the classes if I took them together. The classes were intense, but I did very well. I am beginning an accelerated MSN program this fall (they changed it from accelerated BSN), and think that a big reason that I was accepted was my ability to handle those classes at the same time. Some people only took A&P 1, though, and couldnt deal with that, even without working, so it depends on the person, I guess. Either way, I think that you are the best judge of your abilities. If you are normally in the top 5% of your class, you can def. do it. I'd recommend doing it if you want to gain the time management skills for your BSN program. Good luck!

hi, i graduated with a bsba in business administration and got accepted into an accelerated bsn program at the university of maryland(well, they changed it to an msn program, but that's another story). anyway, my undergraduate grades at bucknell werent that great--3.2. i had a ton of relevant community service, however, and my grades in my prerequisite classes were a 3.7 (i took my prereqs at a community college following graduation). from my understanding, prerequisite science class grades are the most important, followed by your undergraduate gpa, and then they look at the rest of your application--extracurriculars, essay, experience, etc. i do not think that it matters if you have worked in the medical field before. they want people that are intelligent and motivated, and are not whimsically deciding to enter the field. i think that recommendations are extremely important as well. as far as the essay is concerned, i believe that the best focus on why you are a good fit with nursing; what can you offer to the profession? let me know if you have any specific questions--i definately remember being overwhelmed with the application processes. good luck! ~natalie

Hi! Don't stress! They informed me two weeks prior to the application deadline and said I had two weeks to send in my deposit, so I think I received mine earlier than most. It will probably take them at least 3-4 weeks to notify candidates, so if the deadline is April 1 for traditional, you probably still have a few weeks. Also, because I applied for the accelarated rather than traditional, I am sure that your application process is completely different than mine. If I were you, I would definately contact admissions and tell them your concern. They are very easy to get in touch with, and each time I have gotten an answer to my questions quite quickly. I totally understand any anxiety that you are feeling. It is very difficult waiting to hear. Did you apply anywhere else? Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!!
