new pvt?

Hey everyone just took the nclex pn today and tired to do the pvt and took me to the cc page, but I'm hearing thats the new format? But, before I even try to register it says in a little box under the begin registration tab ( you are unable to schedule for any exams at this time) its not a pop up...does that mean anything? Has anyone else seen this?

Did you look at the thread(s) that are already in progress on this very topic?

Yes, there is a new one... but this version will make you pay $200 right now if you have failed. Yes, you would have to pay that $200 to take the exam again, but it's nicer to do that when you are expecting it... and can afford it.

akulahawk,

Worse---you could pay $200 for a false fail and that is not refundable.

Not only that, almost everyone gets the so called good pop up so no one even knows if it will take payment in case of failure.

It wouldn't take my cc# . It said I recently scheduled an exam another registration can not be made at this time. So theres still a chance I failed? Yikes:(

Didnt really browse before I asked, guess I should have

I would expect that they haven't updated their grading system so I would expect that your chances of having a pass/fail results flip are the same as it was before the update. That also means that there's a small chance you could end up paying $200 to schedule an exam that you don't need. The old PVT took you to the CC page so that you could pay, the new one simply intercepts and stops payment for those that have "pass" results.

To reduce the chance that your results would flip between first and second scorings, you really should wait at least 24 hours before trying the new PVT... if you're willing/able to put $200 at risk because if you paid and you pass, you lost $200. If your state participates in quick results, it's a whole lot less risky to pay the $8...

Yes. A good idea.

Has anyone counted how many threads are on this topic? They may need to rename the allnurses website.

What topic do you mean? Oh, and btw, I just took my NCLEX today and it shut off at 93 questions, and I heard about this 'trick' not working......(sorry, couldn't help myself ;) )

What's a PVT?

PVT means partially verified test
