Hello Everyone!

I passed my nclex exam and am now processing my visascreen application. My questions are:

1 - Do I need to send a Request for License Validation to the US state i sat in for my exam?

2 - Do I still have to request for my academic credentials from my previous schools ( I my finished Bachelor of Arts years ago) and finished nursing as my second course.

Thanks in advance.

HI!!

There's a thread in the International Nursing Forum that discusses solely the VisaScreen procedure.

1. Yes, there's a "Request for Validation of Registration/License" form attached to the handbook that you need to fill out and pass to the State where you passed the NCLEX. They will be the one to forward it to ICHP.

2. I'm not really sure with this one but it is indicated in the applicant handbook that you need to forward the "Request for Academic Records" form to EACH school you have listed in the Professional Education section of the application.

Hope that answered at least one of your questions. ;) God bless!

Thread moved to International Forum since it pertains to foreign RNs only.

All professional training must be included, no matter what the topic of the degree was. Then you can leave it up to CGFNS to make the decision if they need it or not.

In the US, the BON cannot release your passing of the NCLEX without your written permission. And most want a fee to fill out the form, CA charges $60 US. Check with the state to see the fee that they want.

Before you request your records from every school you attended, verify with CGFNS first if you need to do so even if your grades have already been integrated in a single transcript from your last school. One person I talked to said CGFNS accepts an integrated transcript. Another person said having multiple records even delayed the processing of his papers and added to the cost because the agency charges an additional $50 or more for every additional school record that they need to evaluate.

An integrated transcript is all that is needed (if from a 2nd courser program).

The Philippines is the only country that uses the integrated transcript, no other countries use that.

The US still needs the records, it just depends on how you get them to them. If all on one, then fine. If not, then you need to send them. And even if you contact CGFNS, just because you get one answer from one person abput this, does not mean that the person that does the review will not want something else. That is why I always say make sure that they get everything, and then they can make the determination.

CGFNS is doing the Visa Screen Certificate processing for the US government, and they are the ones that require everything. Some countries do things differently, but the information needs to be the same.

thank you for all the help guys! much appreciate it.

Hi!

Does this also mean that if one is a second courser and ALSO attended two schools for his/ her BSN program (transferred due to, say, financial reasons), she/ her will just have the school from which she/ he actually finished the nursing program send the integrated TOR?

Take care.

By saying professional education in the VS, they mean nursing education(relevant to the profession being applied for). For the CVS on the other hand, you have to list nonprofessional education(non nursing course in the appropriate part)in the nonprofessional part.

In the case of this applicant, I believe he/she would just have to request validation/transcripts from the school where he/she got his/her bsn degree because his/her being a second-courser would all be reflected in the transcript(I've seen it in my batchmates in school who are second-coursers).

However, if this person applies for the CVS, then the process would be a bit tedious, hehe, including having to remember the "EXACT DATE OF ENTRANCE AND EXIT" from EACH school attended. Imagine one person being in to many schools and many different regions. I hope schools would always forward all info/data(including these hard to remember dates and location).

I'm not a second-courser but I finished my bsn as a transferee from another school and another course.:typing

I submitted the form for the CP(because I did it online and I took the cp exam)and when I applied for the VS(online too), I believe the forms(that I submitted to cp previously)were used as a reference for both services(as seen in my online cgfns account).:monkeydance: However, in the case of CVS(which I haven't tried yet), you really have to submit another set of documents because the documents from CVS couldn't be used for other cgfns services(VS, CP, CES) and vice-versa(as stated in the CVS handbook).

Hi!

I'm a bit bewildered here. Sorry.

To clear things up, I'm applying for visa screen and asking my old schools (except the one I graduated BSN from) to send TORs and the verification forms will require considerable time and effort on my side- in fact, I even have to ride an airplane and a ferry- boat!

Anyway, can you clarify what you exactly did with your CP and VS (in particular)? Say, wrote this

data to this line and this forms from which school/s?

Thank you for your time?

It's okay and you're welcome. Actually, if you are a Philippine graduate, they will integrate all the transcripts in your nursing school, the nursing school where you graduated from(unless of course if you started fresh meaning, no minor subjects credited from your previous course and school).

What I'm trying to say is for VS, for the school part(college), you'll only need the records from the school where you finished nursing(because everything is indicated there, for example, no need to check on your nursing school in 1st year(La Salle), 2nd(UP) year, 3rd year(UST) records from 3 different schools). Remember when you transfer from one nursing school/one course to another nursing school/another school for the bsn, you are being evaluated for which subjects are credited. Imagine if all 3 schools would have to submit the nursing forms(and all their hours vary, it will be a major headache for cgfns because they'll be confused). So remember, submit the form to the school where you finished nursing.

You may also have to submit a certified copy of your high school diploma.

In my case:

CP school credential check = VS school credential check
