Maybe I'm the only one bothered by this, but there seems to be virtually no compliance with the instruction to keep topics about specific schools in the state forums. I just counted six topics about specific schools on the first page on general nursing student. There are also quite a few in the pre-nursing forum.
I'm sure there are lots of interesting things to talk about regarding your school of choice, but it would probably be best to keep those conversations where they belong and free up space for people to discuss issue common to all sorts of programs here.

I, too, have noticed an influx of school-specific threads lately.

Yup, common issue. Many posts don't land in the fora in which they belong.

In their defense, I didn't realize when I started using AllNurses that there was a state specific section or that that was the place to post questions about schools. When you're new to this website, it can be overwhelming. And when you see the US section, they may think it is strictly questions about jobs and pay, not about school since there is a student section.

I completely agree. Often the mods relocate threads that belong elsewhere. You can always call one to their attention.

The school forums were removed...I miss them too. This is general and talking about schools is general. I will pass on the wish for them to return.
You can always post in the site feedback forum and suggest maybe a general nursing school forum.
You should see how many are moved from the School Nurses forum. They just don't know where to go...they have sort of landed here.
FWIW, it isn't that I lose sleep over the issue or anything. It's just that there are specific instructions right at the top of the page about this very thing. I didn't know if clicking the little report button would be overkill for this sort of thing, and I didn't know about the site feedback forum. I looked around for that sort of thing, but couldn't find it.
at the bottom there is a link for STIE MAP there is lists the entire site. There you will find site feed back or you can use the link I provided. The owner likes to hear from it's members and if they have a better idea Brian is very open to giving the members what they would like to see. He's a good guy and loves this site and the members!
