Microbiology

How Difficult is MicroBio compared to a&p

Featured Replies

For me micro was more difficult than a&p when you have to remember every step of metabolism and fermentation processes. And also identifying slides by their scientific names, slides of ameobas and all sorts of little protists, fungi, bacteria, and all that stuff. Generally the first few weeks/month of class. After that it gets a lot more fun. I especially enjoyed the end when you get into bacteria and diseases and all things caused by streptococcus and staph aureus and random diseases like lyme disease, rocky mountain spotted fever, legionnaire's disease etc.

That being said, just like a&p, it is all in what you put into it. If you study alot, like a&p its not that bad. I didn't study for the first part of a&p or micro and that was a big mistake. I did alright and still managed a's and b's but try to get a good grade because so many schools place their emphasis on a&p and micro. Good Luck

thanks i got Bs in both ap1 and 2 micro will be my only class thank god but i will also work and i still will have to put time into it

Thats really good. I made the mistake of taking a&p1 and micro at the same time lol. Live and learn I guess :lol2:

Its about the effort you put into it. Strangely enough, I had an affinity for the lecture than I did the lab.

It depends on the school, professors, and your preferences. I'm taking Micro before A&P, because all of my buddies who have taken it say it's an amazing course that I'll enjoy immensely, and that it may even help out when I take A&P.

I took micro before A&P. I did really well but I studied HARD. It helps to know your anatomy when learning all the different diseases. I'm taking anatomy in the fall. Micro is all memorization and remembering all the different steps of different types of processes.

micro was very hard for me and i had to dedicate a lot of studying time for it but i ended up with a's in both classes

While they are both 4 credit courses and equally difficult, it all depends on your professor! My class professor was extremely hard on us and my friend Aced it with a different instructor and hardly any study time! Ask around or go to rate my professor dot com..Good luck

Micro was the easiest of the sciences for me and the most enjoyable.

i feel ill enjoy it as well...im really good at memorization so thars a plus

I'm taking Micro and A&P II in the fall. You guys are making me nervous about taking them together. Lol. I learn well by memorization/mnemonics/etc so I think I'll be alright. But I'm still pretty nervous!!

I'm taking Micro in the fall and I'm pretty excited about it.
