MDC Fall 2011 =)

Hi guys! Who else is applying for MDC Fall 2011?

I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!

I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol

Well good luck to us all! :heartbeat

Are you guys buying the book for the CPR class at med campus on 7/9?

"Please purchase book before first day of class: BLS for Healthcare Providers."

I went ahead and purchased the book; it was $17 - not so bad compared to some of the other books we have to buy. I figured that they would probably be referring to the book since the class is only one day and probably will need to refer to illustrations and more detailed explanations. Plus, I will always have an up to date review - at least for a while:)

Really good site. Thanks for posting it. Does the stethoscope have to be black? Maybe with a different color and the engraving it will be more difficult to "misplace" it.

you can get several colors. i for one like the lavender color  or the seafoam green... i also heard its a good idea to get a diff. color... they have red, blue, green, even light pink and orange...

OMG!!! I am starting to lose control and hope, I haven't received anything from MDC yet, and I dont know what to expect. Should I still keep my hopes up??? Or my best option is to start focusing on spring cuz fall is already part of the past!!!

Dont worry. They advised more letters are going to out this week starting Tuesday, July 5th. What is your TEAS score, GPA and what program did you apply too?

Well, to be honest my hope was not that high anyway. My TEAS is 70 and my GPA is 3.1, so compared to others my chances are not that great!!! Well maybe a miracle can happen :) LOL

To MDCdream: what type of service(s) did you receive at that place? In other words, what did you get done?

I'm thinking in going there as well since I believe they do everything we're required in one place. Well, as far as the vaccinations, that is. Thank you in advance!

To Fcat: first and foremost, I remember I hated the FCAT and that's what just came into my 'never sleeping mind' when I saw your username.

Anyway, yes, keep your hopes up. As far as what movements you're making, who knows. My advice is go talk to this lady I know by the name of Violeta Oliver-Figuly. She's a chairperson of nursing and she should give you valuable information about your status.

Also, try going to advisement and insist in talking to Mrs. Hernandes, the director. They will tell you to wait if you don't have an appointment. Just wait. I waited for almost three hours. I even made friends while waiting. In fact, I... not AWOL work, but left regardless the amount of work we had. First things first, right? I understand you because I felt like that too: a little bit nervous, upset, disappointed and whatever else there is.

Keep me posted and I wish the very best!!! :D

I don't know about you fem; I like rockin' Air Forces.

Just kidding!!! I'm still debating whether going with MBT's or something that matches with my uniform. Well, that's how I am-flashy! :rotfl:

Nice to meet you Gmarie7! Way to go with that post talking about you should love what you do and vice versa.

But what if you love flippin' them burgers?

I'm so funny... :uhoh3:

That is why I'm posting as much as I can: to gather as many nursing buddies as I can and because I'm not sleepy. Heck, I just nailed watching like three different movies on Netflix. Not really, but almost.

My strategy is not Facebook nor Twitter; it's through the famous success center, library, the famous and God bless Google, allnurses.com, a couple of real I-want-to-be-a-nurse-so-badly-this-isn't-a-joke-it's-serious people and that's it. The more you can be ahead of your game the better. Let the female nursing students do the dirty work for us male students. We promise we'll treat you nice :rotfl:

Just kidding.

You better believe it total bella! At my hospital they hire them very fast. They're like, did you graduate from MDC? Okay, you start next Monday. And you, you said you graduated from UM? We'll let you know. In the meantime, find ways to pay that loan you still owe them.

MDC is the way bella. Love what you do-Blackberry motto. Get paid-Lil Wayne. Do both-Me!
