Hi all,
Im interested in taking the maternal-newborn certification, and im looking for helpful advice from anyone who has recently taken it. I have horrible test anxiety, and im afraid that will effect my test. What did you use to study for the exam? What types of questions were on your exam? Anything you wernt expecting? Thank you so much in advance!

If you go to NCC's website, they have practice tests there. As far as study guides, I took the inpatient OB, not the MNN, but I know Mometrix publishes study guides for both - I used their OB study guide when I took the test.
I did go to the NCC website but it's not really that detailed as to what you need to know for those topics. I was hoping to get more insight as to what they were looking for, it's pretty generic and not very specific. The practice test I found was only 5 questions and they were super easy, which I know this test will be pretty hard Where do I find the Mometrix study guide? I did purchase a core curriculum book as well as a perinatal nursing book to look over but it's just so much!

I used the book "maternal newborn nursing core curriculum " to study for my RNC MNN cert. I also attended a prep class . I would really brush up on breastfeeding.
Prnqday I sent you an email a few days ago. Not sure if you got it? Is that the only book you used? Did you feel like that was enough to study for it? Congratulations on passing.

I always tell our girls when they take the test...think what is done nationally in practice, not what is done at your hospital...sometimes things are blurred when you read a question and you are " Oh yeah, we do this" and it isn't what is done in the books.
I just responded to your email.

CCPR : Maternal Newborn Nursing & Low Risk Neonatal: Workbook ONLY
This was the book/workbook I used to study for mine and it was wonderful. It eased my mind a lot and made the test a breeze.
