My school, Concorde Career College in Garden Grove, CA, is planning to start an LVN to RN bridge program in March that includes prereqs like Anatomy, Physio, Micro, etc... Does anyone know of any programs like that? I'm not too picky about location.

Around here most LPNs have all those pre-reqs done anyway so that would be overkill. There were only maybe 2 or 3 classes that I needed for my ADN that I didn't need as a LPN.

Unfortunately our program doesn't require Anatomy or Physiology so I have to take all the prerequisites, which will put me back about 2 yrs of part-time school

Helene Fuld College of Nursing in Ney York, NY. You did say you didn't mind the location but I'm not sure if you would mind coming across the country.

Look into West Coast university....I know they have an LVN -RN Bridge program with pre-reqs included. The program is 18 months start to finish. First 9 months are pre-reqs then the last 9 you are doing the nursing part with theory and clinical. They have locations in LA, Orange county and Inland Empire. The only catch is that the program costs $ 63,000. I hope this helps :D

The cost$$$ is simply ridiculous. They need to hand you a Masters at that price:confused:

FeFe23 you are so right! I was hoping that cost was a typo!!!

I graduated from Concorde in March! I would NOT go back to that school for LVN-RN for anything... its too ridiculous lol. I met with people from West Coast Univerity today. I have no pre-reqs, and I did all the math. And its actually better to just go to WCU and get it out of the way than miss out on RN pay and rick not getting into an RN program at a community college. The price is actually higher than what was stated... $67 grand and change. The guy I talked to today said that thefinancial aid people help a lot, and that you can even get scholarships through WCU and Kaiser. I talk to financial aid next week. Its located in Anaheim. Its the only program I know around I know that includes pre-reqs.

Hi. I am a student at WCU orange county. I am in term 5 of 8.. just started the lvn-rn bridge program and start clinicals in term 6. I agree the price is outrageous, however would def recommend going to WCU. The first 9 months are all pre req classes and you can work during these terms. It is not too hard and should be manageable by most. Now that the nursing portion is starting I can already tell we are in for it. The term ahead of me in clinicals said that they are overwhelmed and it is so much work.

I do have to say though, it FLIES by!! I can't believe I am more than halfway done. My advice is just start, don't think about it for a few more months. Chances are that the price will increase and you'll just be loosing out on time that you could be getting RN salary!

Hope this helps :)

All of the aforementioned schools offer RN bridge programs with prerequisites included, and they are significantly cheaper than the $67k tuition I am seeing on the previous post. I will be paying about $20k to attend one of these campuses in January. Keep in mind that these are all trade schools.

I'm in OKC and I would not go to Platt. For one thing, they have a history of losing their accredidation, last time I checked they weren't accredited, and the price is super high. I've also heard that they get you in, and many people don't pass the second half, but since they aren't accredited you can't just take your credits and transfer, you're just left with a huge bill and nothing to show for it. I'd just do the pre-req at a CC if you're looking to save money, and then jump into a 2 semester bridge.

I already completed my prereqs at a CC over the past 2 years, but I have to complete 3 semesters of remedial math before I'd be permitted to be admitted into any of the CC nursing programs in my area. I'd rather take the path of least resistance by going the trade school route.
