lifestyle of a RN

It's called a debit card. Has a credit card logo on it, but that's just for show. It DOES NOT give you any more money. I don't have the time to save my slips as I use it often. Credit card? Does that mean I can get free lunch until next week? Should I save my slips? Who can tell? Who knows? CREDIT CARD? Oh! Credit agency I know..... student loans ring a bell too... Just Kidding. I use credit cards for vacations, nothing else.. And, since I don't trust the internet, you'll have to guess which. By the by, we use ALL of them.

RNs do recieve good salaries but not when you take into account what is involved in our jobs. To say we are one of the top-paid professionals is a little far-fetched.

Receiveing my license has changed my life very little. Now I can work 48 hours a week in 4 days, come home covered in substances I won't mention and have back problems at the age of 27. On the plus side I am making a difference in the lives of my patients, at least some nights. Oh yeah, one more thing...now I can give free medical advice to family members who won't listen to me anyway.

How has it changed my life? It has made me more tired than I have ever been, it has given me a wonderful sick sense of humor that I can constantly gross out my non-medical friends with, and it has made me miss those special holidays with my children......

I wish i saw the great pay in nursing. where is it??? My friend with no college education gets paid more at at factory!!! Tell me what is great about the pay. I love my job but I don't do it for the money. :)

OK, I'll be serious. I don't believe in credit cards...have no use for them, just a big scam as far as I'm concerned! Maybe the people who really are well paid can afford them....you know, use it and pay it off w/in that billing cycle so you don't incur finance and interest charges....

How has my license changed my life...well, like the others, I get the pleasure of working long hours, overnight and on weekends and holidays.But, I love my job and wouldn't do anything else, so....

Yeah, I guess you'd be paid well if you work overtime routinely for an agency that pays top dollar. Then you wouldn't have time to do anything but eat and sleep and did you mention something about a credit card.......

Actually I don't know of any other two year degree that pays more than nursing. My friends have their BA and all make around 35k starting out and basically work as Admin Assts. This year I know three people in NY who just started their nursing careers making 65k a year and one of them made 90k this past year through overtime. Many lifestyles are greatly improved from nursing careers ---nothing to snuff at.

You're right ya'all --

nursing is a great profession to be in, however.... we could never get paid "enough" for the things we have to do somedays. I know that I have never really considered my paycheck as one of the best bennies of my job. I love the patient contact and being able to teach peple things that can and will actually change their lives ( if they will listen). I love being able to help -- but that stuff isn't going to make us rich!

Credit cards!? Avoid them as much as I can -- have one for emergancies etc. but it is pretty comfortable just hanging out in the wallet behind my library ard -- it doesn't get out much!!:)

My lifestyle hasn't changed -- same values, same goals.... want my family to be healthy and happy and want to spend as much time as I can with them -- 'cause they are what's important to me.

I agree I have a BA degree and I am currently in nursing school have had first degree for five years now and I am just making 40k a year and I work seven days a week. :)

Credit cards aren't bad if you use them responsibly - meaning you don't charge what you can't afford. I always pay off my bill in full every month and credit cards are convenient for those that are responsible enough to do that. Some people go nuts when they get a credit card though and they forget that the eventually have to pay for what they are buying.
