KSF Second gateway question

Hi all.....can anybody help me with this poser. I have just went through my second gateway and wonder if this means a wage rise:twocents::yeah:. I know that you were given a yearly increment when it was the whitley scale, not sure where I stand with the KSF though:o.

With agenda for change you still get the annual increment, the only place that these can be held are at the gateway, but your manager has to have an excellent reason and documented evidence of your failure to progress to do this.

If you have progressed through the second gateway you will get your increment in exactly the same way you would have under the old system

thanx sharrie:)

Sometimes you might need to have your manager complete paperwork before you go though the gateway, so it's not as automatic as it seems. The trust I work at has this system, I'm in the process of trying to get my old manager to complete the paperwork, so I can get the back pay I'm due.

My understanding was that unless your manager puts a hold on your progression via HR you automatically progress. I have never had to complete paperwork to send to payroll or HR to allow staff to pass through a gateway

Different Trusts do it in different ways - mine do it by the 'if we haven't heard anything, you get the increment' method, however I have also worked in places where paperwork is the norm - either way...

Can i ask as i confused about all this. new nurses(me) do we have a gateway at 6 months and a possible pay rise?

Ayla your increments are annual, there are 2 gateways at different periods through your payscale. Not quite sure where but not after 6 months

Can i ask as i confused about all this. new nurses(me) do we have a gateway at 6 months and a possible pay rise?

My previuos trust did have a policy of band 5 nurses going through the first gateway after six months, I believe it is an option but don't know if it is mandatory for trusts to offer this.

band 5 foundation gateway is at the second increment

new entrants can be progressed to this point at one year with the first increment at 6 months on successful completion of preceptorship ...

this is the stage im at at present and the rumor is there may be a 20p increase in basic hourly rate.

wow, Ayla a whole 20p and hour.

You'll be able to buy an extra loaf of bread a week :D:D

20p increase, you are spoilt for choice on what to buy :D
