Excelsior grads get a discount on the Kaplan course, but my friends in traditional nursing school did a different one (Drexel?) and all have done well so far.
So, what's the skinny on NCLEX prep courses, especially Kaplan?

Took Kaplan this past month. I think it gave you some good strategies and methods to work through certain questions. I took the NCLEX today (swearing i failed so bad) so ill let you know how i really feel about kaplan after i get my results.
Others i know took Drexel, which i think has a similar pass rate for the NCLEX, but dont quote me on that im not sure, and the majority of those who took it passed.
Im not sure about the cost of Drexel. See if your hospital will pay for the review course, mine did. Good Luck!

You get out of it what you put into it. Spend the next few weeks studying constantly. Read the review book cover to cover, listen to lectures online, & do the practice tests. Review each question of the tests to understand why you got correct or incorrect. You must understand the reasoning behind the correct answers. Kaplan worked for me. I bet you are going to do great.

hi RNKITYY2004,
i took KAPLAN for my CGFNS/IELTS as my review center, and I PASSED!! but of course a lot of prayers and discipline too. Now, i'm planning to go back again there to enroll for my upcoming NCLEX exam. So, i can say that KAPLAN helps a lot! :)
Thanks for the input guys, I really really need to pass the NCLEX, the first time. My husband and I are on the verge of divorce/bankruptcy and to fail at this point would just devastate me. (no pressure here)
