Am I the only one who hates the rationales on Kaplan?
They don't make any sense and I find the questions to be veryyyyyyy hard. =( I am loosing hope for passing the NCLEX-PN after doing only 100 questions on Kaplan QBANK. :uhoh21:

Yea I was disappointed with Kaplans rationales. I feel like they need to explain more as to why my answer was wrong and theirs was right. Just keep doing them, I thought NCLEX was identical to how Kaplan asked their questions. Good Luck Studying!

I agree, I wish the rationales were more thoroughly explained. Saunder's rationales are explained very well...although the questions are easy....so I'm using both sources for study......:chuckle:bugeyes:

Some of their rationales are exact opposites of things that were pounded into our heads in RN school. It gets really confusing.

the rationels are not into details I was complaining about just now before I saw this. am using kaplan with lippincot and the difference is clear . I will say its better not to rely on only one source so you can learn from different directions and at thesame time not more than 2 materials are okay to avoid confusion cos some of them contradict at times. thinking of taking mine ending of july or early august. good luck to us all.

I didn't use the Kaplan QBank. I used one of their books. And like you, I didn't like their rationales at all. Some of the rationales were kind of vague and for some it almost seemed like they were saying "its right because we say its right, thats all you need to know" LOL. Also like the other poster pointed out, it seemed like Kaplan would go against everything that was taught and in the books.
My Saunders was my favorite. But I switched back and forth between the Kaplan, Saunders and Lippincott.
Maybe try using more than one source. It might be better to do that than stay with one that you aren't finding really helpful.
Don't worry about not passing the NCLEX. Lots of "Kaplan-ites" pass :) (isn't it guarenteed? If you don't pass you get your money back?) And more people than not pass the NCLEX. 85 out of 100 first time test takers pass. Thats pretty good odds.
I don't understand how people pass by doing kaplan qbank lol the rationales don't even make sense. I just hope the questions on nclex are very similar to kaplan. I've been doing 100 qs everyday from saunders n I hope this helps me on nclex.
I found that the "out of left field" and weird NCLEX questions more resembeled the Kaplan ones than they did the Saunders or Lippincott. But the more detailed rationales that the Saunders and Lippincott gave helped me when I was doing the wacky NCLEX questions.
so I guess Kaplan does help in the sense that they train you to expect wacky, weird, out of nowhere questions. :uhoh21:

i used kaplan online complete for 1 month prior to taking the nclex-rn. my impression of kaplan was they expected you to thoroughly understand content and their sole purpose was to hone your test taking skills. most of the answers i got wrong in kaplan were due to my not understanding and/or misreading the question.
