Thanx in advance for everyones input/help..

If you are taking the in person review course and do not understand something, then you should ask the instructor.

you are doing fine. l scored 52 in my diagnostic test and l passed.

Specializes in heart failure and prison.

Here is my Kaplan story. I took the diagnostic test and I think I got 56%. Since, I workded mon to fri 40 hours a week I could only do 50 questions a night. I did those questions and I read all the rationales even If I got the question correct. I also made my own NCLEX book, I would write down the important parts of the question and I would read that during the day at work. I did all the test trainers. The qbank has a pie chart, this will show you how your progress is. Also make sure you watch all the video's. This will help you with crutch/cane walking and chest tubes etc. I wrote down all my lab values on 3/5 cards and I studied those also. The most important thing to do is do all the questions in the qbank and the test trainer's, if time is permitted try to re-do all questions. Make sure you READ ALL RATIONALES. Even if you get the question right. I did pass on my 1st try with kaplan and I had 75 questions. Good luck with your studying.

I was thinking about signing up for the Kapaln review but recently heard that they were getting a 61% ... and this individual passed with a 4.0 - it seems like a lot of money to place in a course and be confused and berated with the the that you aren't doing well.

Specializes in "Wound care - geriatric care.

I was listening for the 3rd time to the Kaplan introduction. Every time I listen I learn something new. Listen to the explanation on what the NCLEX is trying to test on people. They want you to critically think rather than answer questions from memory. So the tree guide you in this critical thinking task. I guess what called my attention was the fact that you can't just look at the question and than look at the anwser and pick one choice. I has to be deeper than that. You are looking at a scenario as if you were at the bed side. I'm on the same boat, trying to figure it out so I can go try the second time.

Specializes in Cardiac PICU, PICU, NICU.

Actually Kaplan wants you to aim for a score around 65% so that score is not bad at all.
