Two worst jobs i had in school:

1st year: cleaning a professional office. Yeah, professional, not. The floor looks like pigs had worked all day. They would empty out the hole puncher in the floor and scatter the punch-outs everywhere. Spilled whole pots of coffee on the floor, and just left it there to dry. Describing the toilets, well, let's just say you had a better chance of finding a cleaner one in Calcutta than you did in that building at the end of the day. They must have had burritos for lunch all the time.

Also, cleaning motel rooms, the kind of rooms that the doors opened striaght outside. So when it was 15 degrees with 2 ft of snow (threatened to be fired if we didn't make it to work) or 105 degrees outside, we were working. Oh they allowed you to stay in one of the rooms if a big snow storm was brewing, BUT, if someone checked out in the middle of the night, they would call you out of your room to make you clean it. While saying "well, we're allowing you to stay here for free, so you...."

HATED that job. In my exit interview, i told the manager (who threatened termination to everyone at anytime, what a confidence booster) that "you all treat people like ****, couldn't care less about their safety, and ***** that people aren't working fast enough in 2 ft deep snow while you all sit in a nice warm office. Take this job and shove it."

I worked as a cook in Pizza Hut while in nursing school.

The worst job I ever had while being a college student and a single mom was the graveyard shift at a gas station. But I guess it helped toughen me up. Survived a robbery attempt and other stuff.....drunks, fights all kind of obnoxious stuff. Luckily I don't have to do that kind of work anymore.

I've had friends that worked at pizza places, that even years after they quit, they still don't like pizza.

The cabdriver's loved it when I worked the shift because I kept it clean unlike other people on ohther shifts, left everything to me....... It was the grossest job ever so far,

Fortunately, I've come to love pizza again. But I understand. It was a long time before I could enjoy pizza. Pizza used to be my favorite food. :)

During my first year of prereqs I worked overnite at Target unloading trucks and stocking shelves. :uhoh3: (Now in my first year of the nursing program, Im the administrative assistant for the nursing supervisors at a psych facility.

Worst job was after I as married when I ran a new day program that was taking in developmentally disabled adults who were high functioning, had serious mental illnesses in addition and were getting out of mental institutions for the first time in their lives. it was some state plan to integrate them into the communities, but they did it too fast and overwhelmed all the organizations that dealt with developmentally disabled adults. After having to take clients to the hosptial after a fight, getting my arm bloodied, dealing with staff leaving after they had been beat up themselves, having my car beat on by a crazy guy over 6 feet who wanted me to get out so he could rape me and an organization that armed us with "positive reinforcement techniques" to deal with dangerously violent individuals, I left. I mean, how do you positively reinforce someone who has you cornered and is getting physical? "Hey, good swing there, you could be a boxer!" I don't think so. :uhoh3:

Ever seen the movie Office Space? I work in the operations department for one of the biggest banks. That describes my working conditions perfectly. :chuckle

I work in the Paint Dept at Lowe's. I hate it, hate it, hate it! Between freight and boneheads that put cans of paint on the top shelf without the lid on them :angryfire I can't wait to graduate!
