HOW CAN I WORK LIKE THIS,THE RESIDENTS IS NOT GETTING THE CARES NEEDED BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE WORRIED ABOUT THE WORNG STUFF.PLEASE SOMEONE IF YOU CAN HELP ME COME UP WITH SOMEHING TO STOP ALL THE STUPIT STUFF.AND HAVING A MEETING ABOUT IT DON'T HELP.I BEEN THERE ALREADY:idea:

Please don't type in all caps. It is very difficult to read. Try to sit down with a friend to sort out the issues. IF you think bullying or mobbing is going on it might be time to look for greener pastures or ask for reassignment.

You didn't say why you feel your job is on the line.

If the environment is that bad I would be looking for another job.

sounds as if your co workers have too much time on their hands.. it takes alot of time & energy to be conspiring and gossi[ing all the time. the type of behavior you described creates such a negative environment to work in. i have experienced violence (by mouth) in the workplace. best thing you can do is pull up your big girl panties, and smile, tell everyone how you are happy to be there, and avoid idle chatting with coworkers. spend more time with the residents. anything to occupy yourself away from the gossiping ones. i recently lost a job i seriously loved because of one girls saying something about me.. i wish our profession was the way we were taught in school with write up and peer reviews required to terminate a nurse. i was simply told we have relieved you of your position. i am thinking wrongful termination. oh well if all else fails go get another position.. i did... take care poopsy

If you do decide to stay be sure to CYA. Chart anything that you think will come back to bite you in the butt (good practice at all times). Go to your nurse manager with your c/o and do it in writing (keep copies of these letters). Do not say anything that they can use against you. Personally, anytime something is going on with a co-worker or res family member I journal it so that I have a record to refer back to if needed. However, you really have to ask yourself is this job worth all of this work? Honestly, if I had to watch my back this closely I would be looking for a new job or a transfer out of your nurse managers department. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

This is what you do to set yourself apart:

1. Figure out who the "gossips" and "troublemakers are"...make it a point to stay away from them. Some of them might even be your closest friends...if you have any friends that are doing "management bashing" it will be assumed that you share their ideas...stay way from them.

2. When they start a b**** fest, just say, "I have to go to the bathroom" or "let go check on Mr. Smith"...be Susie Sunshine..they will eventually get the message that you are not 'into' the gossip.

3. If someone comes to you to vent...say, "Suzie, I'm sorry, but the less I know is probably better."

4. The troublemakers KNOW that they are getting a rise out of you...so take back the control.

5. Do your job and document, document, document..don't listen to gossip unless your nurse manager specifically calls you out on something...don't assume any gossip about your manager about what they do and don't know or what actions they take on things.
