IS THIS TRUE???

I'm waiting to find that out too, because that NEVER happened in my program; we never disrobed openly around students; even in our assessment class we had modesty prevail, no disrobing.

Yup. We had to. I wasn't too happy about it but in nursing school you just keep your head down and try not to be noticed to make it out alive. Lol

Woah. That never happened in my LVN program. If they told me to disrobe I'd laugh & walk out. I don't care if I got an F.

We didn't totally take our clothes off or anything but we had to put a gown on and practice washing the arms and legs of our fellow students.

Ah well then I edit my post & then it makes more sense. I still wouldn't get to my underwear. I would walk. No way in heck that would happen!

Not in my program. We were encouraged to wear shorts and sports bras, but were not required to do so.

At least the students disrobing to their undergarments for lab practice didn't have to go through what the students at Valencia College had to do... practice lady partsl ultrasound exams on each other! In my experience this has been a pretty common part of nursing school. Yeah, it's super weird to be near naked (we wore bathing suits under the gown) and have someone poking and prodding your gown-covered body, but that's sort of the point; it's just as weird for patients but yet we expect them to cope with it. I think it does help do understand how vulnerable someone can feel in that situation.

So many years ago when I was in college for my first degree and had NO desire to become a nurse, my cousin, who was a student at another university told me about her friend who was in a nursing program. According to her, the students had to perform gynecological exams on each other and this friend had to wait while they got a smaller speculum to use on her. Now I really don't know what actually occurred, but I am quite sure it did not go down quite like that as the university was very well respected (although my university's main rival lol.

Still, at that time I was even more certain I'd never become a nurse. I mean, how utterly awful. Years later when I did attend nursing school, I was do relieved none of that ever happened. :thumbup:

I got to practice on someone with DD implants. Double dayyyyyyummmmmmm!!!
