I've been at this Doctor's Office job as a new RN since 9/13, and I applied at an Endoscopy center before I started here. At the end of Sept I was offered a PRN job (averaging 32 hours a week) with higher pay and better hours... with a good possibility of going full-time as long as they get busier like they plan on. I'm ok with all this and I do like it there... I did a half day with them on Monday and will do another half day with them next monday.
I don't really like my job at the family practice.. for one, b/c I still don't get home until about 6pm every night and I have a child in school and a 2 month old, and two, b/c I don't feel like I'm putting my license to use like I really wanted to. Everyone at a doctor's office is considered a nurse regardless of their title and it honestly bugs me a bit (it probably shouldn't, but it does). I also don't like how I feel like a child there.
Anyway, after next week with another half day at the endoscopy center, I will have to decide what I want to do. The manager at the endoscopy center she will give me time to give at least two weeks notice at my current job. It's a weird feeling, b/c I got comfortable where I'm at and I pretty much know what to do. And I'm a little nervous about starting somewhere new and learning new stuff. I'm thinking after a few weeks there, I'll probably get comfortable too... Is it normal to feel this way? I guess I'm just nervous about quitting, and worrying I'll make the wrong decision.
Also, how would you give your notice and what would you say? I plan on being honest and telling them about this job... is that a wrong move?
