Is there hope for me??

I wish you the best of luck! As you've mentioned, you have grown up a lot since your last attempt. I've noticed in many of my pre-req courses that success is really based on your drive. Even if you find the material difficult, I've noticed the students who really have the drive succeed, they may work harder but they succeed.

I definately think there is hope for you!! I have been in school since graduating high school (8 years), changed my major from biology to finance to business to chemistry and now finally to nursing. I have failed and withdrew from many a class. (Not that I am proud of any of that). I was working full time, partying full time and trying to live on my own. Well in '04 I found out I was pregnant. So make a long story short. I grew up very quickly. Since returning to school I have made straight A's and look good to start nursing school in May.

Just stay focused, You can sooo do it!!!

There is a lot of hope for you! You know what to expect now, and you're ready for it.

I skipped classes and didnt study much and of course I failed. I didn't take college seriously and it showed.

Take it from me, a girl who left her first 4-year university with a GPA of 0.7 to end up eventually being accepted to and graduating from UCLA, there are always second chances to be had. Out of HS, I did the same things as you, skipped classes and was generally indifferent to the grades I was racking up. It came down to the fact that I didn't enjoy or feel that what I was studying was worthwhile to me.

When I finally found my focus I was back up to my normal, healthy study habits, so it can be done. If you are willing to do (almost) anything to do well on the path to become a nurse, you can absolutely do it! :nuke:

The ones that want it badly do the best. If you are serious and take college seriously, you will do well.

The schools I applied to don't ding you for retaking a failed class if it was over 7 years ago. I got a D in Statistics over 10 years ago and when I started back at school 10 years later I got an A the second time around and every other class I have got an A so my application GPA is 3.9 and it would have been 4.0 If I hadn't got a B in English when I first started school oh so many years ago. One thing I can say is that you take things much more seriously when you are older. I have a son now that I am trying my hardest to be a good example to so I really am trying to get all A's. Good luck. You can do it.

A&P is a breeze compared to other nursing school classes!
