well i just screamed at the top of my lungs and wanted everyone to know. i have officially gotten everything in place for my relocation to houston (from canada) and i will be heading down there in ten days ..... might i add 10 days isn't that long for someone that still has to work 4 12 hr shifts:rotfl:
sooooo now i have to finish packing get a uhaul truck stuff it to the max and start the long drive down to houston.... with 2 kids and a wigged out cat :paw: ..... then i can enjoy air conditioning, lots of traffic, lots of good food, and of course my new home at methodist :)
sorry i know this post probably doesn't make sense but i'm happy scared nervous and well everything in between and i just had to share it with anyone that would listen lol
here's hoping that the boarder guard likes all my documentation and will allow me in to the us and let me on my marry drive :)

Welcome to Texas!
Since you're going to Houston, you will quickly need to become accustomed to the 90 percent humidity that plagues the city. :roll

Welcome to my corner of the world.
Methodist has a good reputation. I hope that's true of being an employee as well.
Do you know anybody in Houston?
~faith,
Timothy.
thanks for the replies :)
i am aware of the humidity ..... sadly though lol i only get it for about 2 months of the year :)
i know 2 people in houston thats it :) and i am also hoping that methodist's reputation is as good for its employees as those that use it's services

Where in Houston are you moving to? Do you already have a place lined up?
What part of Canada are you coming from. I lived in Calgary for a spell.
GOOOOOOOD LUCK with the humidity. You couldn't have PICKED a hotter and more humid time to come!
I was born and raised in Houston and STILL can't stand the humidity! I got rea l accustomed to having 4 seasons as wel while i lived on the east coast. It is really hard being back, especially to Houston for Christmas and having to wear shot sleved shirts at times!
But the upside is, you can wear flip flops all year long! YAY! And no more shoveling snow! YAY! And you and I can be one of the fortunate few that laugh at all the silly Texans who lock themselves in their houses for 3 days when we get .25 inches of snow/sleet on the ground.
I love Texas. I know you will too. The people here are jus so great!

Native Texan here. Welcome to our great state! After a few summers here you will get used to running from one air conditioned building to another. Soon you'll learn that a prime parking place is not necessarily the one closest but the one in the shade
Texans are great folks. I wouldn't live anywhere else.

Mom? Is that you??
:roll
My mom said the EXACT SAME THING to me when I moved back to Texas from the East Coast.
How funny! I am serious, the EXACT SAME THING.
She is a notorious shade parker! No matter that we now have to walk in blazing hot sun and 99.9% humidity for 10 min, in order to get to the building we are going to! At least the car's in the shade!
:chuckle
(She and Dad are in Houston. I am outside Dallas. It's a little better up here)

it's me. Now go clean your room and don't sit too close to the tv or you'll go blind.
Ok, now this is getting scary. :uhoh21:

i'm moving to the southwest area of houston. i'm coming from manitoba (originally from bc-vancouver) so let me say that i wont mind the humidity or wearing flip flops nearly all year. it has to be better then having winter for 8 months of the year and hiding in a parka while the wind is howling and its minus 40 out. i will miss the cold weather for christmas, not having snow and hot chocolate i am sure will through me for a loop .... ok that and my kids putting that frosty type spray on the windows to make the windows look icy and the inside all warm and toasty :)
