hey everyone! i just wanted to let everyone know that i have finished nursing school! :biggringi: :balloons: today was my last clinical day, but it was cancelled d/t snow. i have already taken and passed my final exam! i am so excited. it doesn't seem real yet. i can't imagine that i don't have classes next semester, or that i won't be getting up at 0530 3 days/week for clinicals anymore. it is such a great feeling. just wanted to say congrats to all the other students who are graduating this month, and good luck to all the students. this day will be here for all of you soon. thanks for letting me share my joy!

Good job! Enjoy your free time.
When's the NCLEX? And how will you prepare for it?
I have to wait until the TExas board of nurse examiners says I can take the NCLEX, and who knows when that will be! Hopefully before the new pharm. changes occur, though. I will prepare by doing lots of CD-ROM NCLEX style questions, I guess. I may take a review course (my potential job will pay for it). Thanks!!

i live in houston and it only took two weeks to get the approval. my suggestion is to do the NCLEX asap after school. there is no real way to study for the NCLEX other than brushing up on lab values. either you know it or you dont, and its best to do it right away.
i waited two months and it took me 91 questions to pass. i shouldnt have waited so long after school.
p.s. congrats darlin'! i know i was thrilled to no end when i finally graduated. it took my weeks to get it through my head that i really wouldnt have to go back next semester and start that whole process of studying all over again. it really is better out in practice.
im on maternity leave right now (PIH ) but cant wait to get back into mursing. i miss it so much i started posting here again and reading baout other peoples stories. i miss nursing!

Poor thing! I'm so sorry you have PIH. When are you due? I hope you get to go back to work soon. I'm assuming that you graduated before all of these changes with the Tx BNE occured this year? It seems that everyone I have talked to about the Tx BNE, including potential employers in HOuston, Dallas, Mcallen, etc. has said that the new changes are hellified! I sent my stuff off almost a month ago, haven't heard anything yet. LIke I said, I will just be patiently waiting on them to approve me. I will most likely take a job here in VA until I get my Tx GN permit or pass my NCLEX, whichever comes first! Thanks, and best of luck to you!

Congrats, but don't forget the NCLEX. I studied the NCLEX book I bought and the cd rom really helped too... always remember ABC. The questions are soo easy they are hard and don't forget to prioritize. You can do it!!!!Let us know how you did!

I too just finished my LAST FINAL today...I am sooo happy!!! I thought this day would never come! I too have not heard anything from the Texas BNE yet, which makes me nervous considering I have already accepted a job. I hope we hear something soon. Keep us posted, and congratulations~!! :balloons:
