I need HelPPPPPP!

I posted on here yesterday about any advice on hospitals in FL. Here's my situation though. This is my first travel assignment, I came down here a lil over a week ago, started orientation, and found out the night I was supposed to work that my contract was cancelled........I was told due to not meeting satisfaction with one of my test scores.....which i was not aware that this test would reflect on my contract. Another thing is that I've took this test before, and never had any problems with it. So my dilema now is that i'm in limbo waiting to get another interview for another assignment. I'm really starting to question if it is really worth me staying here, is my travel agency telling me everything i need to know or being honest with me? I'm clueless since this is my first time traveling/experience with everything.....Does anyone have any advice?? I feel like i'm already starting off on the wrong foot......

What does your agency say about this? They should have had the test results before they gave you the assignment.

My agency stated that they were not aware that I would have to take this test, nor that the results would reflect on my assignment......but then turned around and said many of thier nurses have had their contracted cancelled due to the same reason.......I feel like I'm not being told everything and it's making me really confused since this is/was my first travel assignment...

Is it that PBDS?

There have been a lot of posts on here where travel nurses have gone to their assignment only to be cancelled due to the results.

Do they have work at any hospitals that don't use it?

Good luck.

PBDS? Is that the goofy test where you see a bunch of slides and have to state a plan ?

It was the PBDS, where you watch people acting like patients and put what is wrong along with your interventions......My agency said not all hospitals require it, so now i'm in search for another job in FL.....didn't know if anyone had any suggestions???

What part of FL are you in? May know if some of the hospitals you are considering use the PBDS or not.

just failed this test in naples,fl...travel contract terminated after I finished orientation and a 12 hr shift...Heard from staff nurses that 30 nurses sent home last year after failing test. Test is ridiculous

sorry...never heard of this test on east coast fl.

OH my gosh....NCH is exactly where my contract was cancelled.....since I'm a first time traveler, i didn't know if this is typical?? And very disappointed, Needless to say, my travel agency failed to tell me about the test and many other things, so I have since then came back home to work, thinking about trying to travel again in Jan. but through a different agency.....I did find out though many hospitals use that test, especailly on the golf side of FL....so I won't be headed there :)

..never heard of this test before this...neither did any of my co workers at old hosp.

Have you considered Ocala/Gainesville area? Ocala hospitals are down nurses right now. G'ville often has contracts - University of Florida there, lots of jobs posted. Hope this helps. :icon_hug:

please share with us, the name of your agency...i am thinking of picking up a first travel assignment and i don't want the same thing to happen to me.

i hope it gets better for you.
