I did it!!! I passed!!!

I passed...I passed...I passed!!! YES!!!

What a great feeling!

I have been "lurking" on here for the past 5 weeks or so...reading advice, everyone's experiences, and whatnot.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I passed THE test!

I was originally scheduled to take the test on Mon. July 3rd, but was feeling ready, so I moved the test up to this past Tues. June 27th (after I did that I was freaking out...saying what did I do that for?!). I found out tonight (Wed. June 28th) at about 7:00 pm that I passed!! The Ohio BON is so wonderful with their licensing webpage...I am so blessed to not have to wait through another night and pay Pearson more money!! I can finally sleep!

I studied my butt off for five weeks...earlier was about 4-6 hours a day...closer to the exam was more like 8 hours/day...sometimes more (ah!). I took a 4week/twice a week review course and did about 3,000 questions. I got 75 questions and it took me about 2 hours and 15 minutes to finish. I wanted to take my time...but, I didn't anticipate it would be that long! Anyways, I felt like thinking each question through and making the correct answer every time by taking my time helped me get the least questions possible in the end! I got tons of infection control, tons of meds, tons of select all that apply (ah!)....no med calcs...and a couple recall/simpler type questions in the mix (I freaked out when I got those...thinking I must have been doing bad/gotten the previous hard question wrong). Anyways...the wait was rough...the result is awesome! I was way to anxious during the first 20 questions or so...just calm down and breathe! You can do it! The sacrifices are so worth it!

Moving on to a wonderful career with the little babes in the NICU!

Congrats to you!

Congratulations on passing your boards. I just graduated and am preparing to take my boards. I am so overwhelmed with review books and CD Roms. You name it and I have it. I don't know which book to use everyone says something different. What review books did you use. What would you recommend. I just really want to pass the first time.

:balloons: GOOD JOB AND CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!:balloons:

Congrats!! I took mine yesterday too, also shut off at 75 and also found out that I PASSED!!!!! Its a pretty amazing feeling, isn't it? I'm also from Ohio--they really are pretty fast. 24 hrs of misery and waiting is plenty. I couldn't imagine having to wait much more than that.

Congrats again!

thanks everyone!

i used davis's nclex-rn success and mosby's comprehensive review of nursing for the nclex-rn exam. since i took a locally sponsored review course, i used the books mostly for questions. they were both similar in style to the nclex and helped me in prep for it. really, i think any book you get you will be fine with. i think it is important though to NOT rely on one source...however, dont get more than like 3 books...then you won't focus and things start to contradict each other. i also used the Mosby CAT online which was a confidence booster and similar to the NCLEX in the sense that you really have no idea how you are doing. the fact that it said i would pass with 99% probability at the end of the test really helped my nerves. many people have had success with Saunders and Kaplan on this board (though it seems like Kaplan may be too difficult...though I don't know...just impressions from the posts)

:balloons: congrats. :balloons: :groupwelcome:

took my test tuesday also and just got my results today, wasn't posted until this morning.
