  1. Hi! Looking to apply for a position at VNA (Cleveland). Wondering how they pay. Also, any feedback from people who work or have worked for them would be great. Thanks!!
  2. Left scrub pocket-red pen, black pen (usually 2), highlighter (highlight important info on my "brains" or what I need to make sure I pass on in report) Right scrub pocket-a couple of alligator clips, alcohol pads, 1-2 flushes, chapstick, scissors, and things that migrate into my pocket as I use them. pants pockets-mints, money I have a clipboard that opens up so I keep extra brain sheets, a dry erase marker for the boards in pt rooms, a sharpie and an extra pen Watch on my wrist Stethoscope around my neck (with a roll of tape threaded on to one of the earpieces--always handy and accessible with one hand if needed!!) I think that is about it--I am new so I am still figuring out what to carry! Michelle
  3. Question regarding deductions--are things like my license fee, NCLEX fee, and fingerprinting fee also deductible? Anything else I should know about? Thanks for the reminder about uniforms and equipment etc. I need to get in the habit of keeping all of my receipts! Thanks for the info! Michelle
  4. I did the online course thru NCSBN and used Saunders Comprehensive RN review book/disc.
  5. After an absolutely agonizing 25 hours and obsessively checking the OBN website more times than I should admit to, I PASSED!! I had to check re-enter my name 3 times before I finally believed it! Wow. I was really sweating it and was sure that I had failed but I feel great now!! So glad its over and that I never have to go through that ever again! Michelle
  6. Congrats!! I took mine yesterday too, also shut off at 75 and also found out that I PASSED!!!!! Its a pretty amazing feeling, isn't it? I'm also from Ohio--they really are pretty fast. 24 hrs of misery and waiting is plenty. I couldn't imagine having to wait much more than that. Congrats again! Michelle
  7. Hi! 1) shut off at 75 2)I did the NCSBN online course for about 4 weeks and used the Comprehensive Saunders Review book (while at the pool with the kids) and answered tons of questions on the disc it came with 3) Our school had the HESI test. According to it, I had a 99% chance of passing 4) I am still waiting-I has only been about 15 hours so far. I will continue to check the OBN site (I am hearing that ohio gets them up usually within 24 hrs) 5) I wanted to cry when it shut off and still feel sick... I have absolutely no idea of if I passed or failed 6) yes (and hopefully my last--fingers are crossed)
  8. I took my exam yesterday too and shut off at 75. I almost cried and I still feel sick to my stomach. Same thing--I didn't feel like I was doing that well. I was between 2 for so many of them. Results seem to be up in about 24 hrs on the BON site but I took mine in the afternoon so I don't know if I'll find out today or not. I hope so--the waiting is worse than anything I felt before the test. Best of luck to all of you others that shut off at 75 and are waiting to hear. I posted a similar thread yesterday and someone replied back that they did a poll (in the poll section) and out of 52 people, 47 or 48 passed when they got 75. Lets hope we are in those percentages!!
  9. Penny- I feel your pain! I did the exact same thing. Everyone else seems to think its a good thing (they have not had to take the NCLEX yet or aren't in the field and have no clue) but I'm telling you that it felt terrible when it shut off! I appreciate everyone's faith in me but I still feel sick to my stomach and imagine that I will until the results are in. I'm hearing that the OBN has had results up (not the ones you pay for from Pearson) within 24 hours but I took my test this afternoon so I'm thinking that it won't be up till Thursday. I'm hoping for tomorrow though. Let's hope for a passing grade for both of us!! My fingers and toes are crossed! Let me know! Michelle
  10. Hi! I took my NCLEX today and I am completely freaking out. My computer shut off at 75 and I wanted to cry. I was between 2 for so many. Do you know many people that had it shut off at 75 and failed? I know they say you can pass or fail at 75 but what is everyone's own experience? We did take the HESI test towards the end of my last semester and according to that, I had a 99% chance of passing. That isn't bringing me alot of comfort right now though!! I studied my butt off, did well in school-- I have to hope that was enough, right? The next 24-48 hours is going to be rough! I have heard that the OBN gets your license number up pretty fast if you pass, though. Thanks for listening to me vent! Michelle
