NYU v. Columbia
I completely agree with what Charlie Taco said about getting that bedside experience. The nursing job market now is very different from previous years. There are many new Graduate Nurses that Graduate from Nursing school and are jobless for 6 months to year. I saw it when i was in school getting my bachelor's. Many of them Grduated Nursing school and have been looking for a job for like a year or more and were unable to find a job. I would say get experience working as a RN before you go for your Masters.

CRNA vs FNP
Hi I am going through the same thing right now. I graduate in two weeks with my BSN and trying to determine whether I want to be an FNP or go the CRNA route. I am having a hard time now with the way the Economy is obtaining a position in the ICU setting. You have to really think about what you want to do? I am a person that gets bored very quickly and that is why I am considering the CRNA route. However i have realized that If i am unable to get a positionin an ICU setting then I may have to go the FNP route then obtain a Post Master's Certificate in Anesthesia. I am also in those childbearing years as they would say and want to settle down and have children. Women always have such a hard time trying to balance career with family obligations. Im turning 30 this year and thinking that i really don't want to be a first time mother at 40 years old. There is nothing wrong with that however not everyone can have a healthy baby at 40.

Can you still become a CRNA if you get an ADN first?
Congrats on obtaining your CRNA? I am thinking about becoming a CRNA and would like to know if you are already an Np can you become a CRNA? I am graduating with my bachelors degree next month. I am applying to get into an ICU/ CCU in a Tertiary Hospital and having a hard time getting a job in an ICU setting to get my experience in an ICU/CCU Setting.:)

Pub-Med NCLEX Review ?????
I have the meds pub review book that was given to me by my school. I too would like to know how it rates against kaplan, ncsbn and mosby.I spoke with people that have used it and said that it does help, but for some reason I just don't think the material is up to date. If anyone used this book for the nclex and passed please let me know. Thanks

study guides and actual nclex questions????
I have spoken to many nurses that have said that mosby is really good. They say that Mosby have more advanced, nursing process type of questions with an increase level of difficulty as opposed to lippincott. I myself am studying to take the NCLEX and just feel so overwhelmed with the amount of resources that I have. I just think if you do at lease 3000 questions before your scheduled exam that you will pass. Good luck!!!! sign Hatian26.
