after a long wait of about 5.5 years, god has granted me one of the happiest times of my life. i was attending a very expensive private school and was half way thru the semester when i recieved my letter of acceptance last wednesday... i was crying and laughing along with my husband. it was a very happy moment for us. i withdrew from the private school in a yippy! lol..any one else get into NOVA'S program?? it would be nice to know how many students also shared the same happiness that i did with my family! all posts welcome!!

Congrats!!! It is such an exciting feeling when you first get accepted, I remember reading my letter and crying!!!! Good luck to you :)

thanks all for the kudos!!

Congratulations on your acceptance to the nursing program!

I have a question for you or anyone that got accepted this Fall 09.

Did you have a high grade on the pre req classes? I have been asking this to many people including the counseling dep (which they are not very helpful) and I don't seem to get an answer. My problem is that I barely passed A&p I, II and Micro with a C. My overall GPA is very good, I am trying to obtain my AA in order to transfer to Mason to obtain my BS. I would love to be a nurse, but I would refuse to retake those classes again. Do they look on the overall GPA or only on the pre req classes? I will appreciate an answer from anyone! :)

Many places look at your grades from pre-reqs as an indicator as to how well you understand the material. Also, some schools have a point system, a number value applied for each letter grade awarded for pre-reqs, and along with that and the score of your entrance exam, if taken, may indicate whether you are accepted into nursing school or not. You will have to ask the nursing chair at the school you go to for a straightforward answer.

How was your orientation today?

I couldn't have asked for a better clinical assignment!!:yeah:

And to answer the above question. I had a 4.0 with a 92 overall on the HESI. If you refuse to take those classes again you may suffer for it. Th only way to know if you will get into a program or not is to just go for it and apply. They do look at your overall GPA, in addition to your grades in the pre-reqs.

By the way, why didn't you apply?

hey

how r u? how did u do on the math diagnostic test?? i took mine on tuesday and i believe i missed one. but i missed one ? for sure..it was the one with a proportion with a fraction on top.. it was like this: 1/2:50::x/25. x is 625 but i dont know why i didnt work at it like i did when i came home. haha n e way..its all good. so wat do u think so far about the program?
