I am freaking out!!!

Published

I took NCLEX-RN today. All I can say is that walked out that place feeling like the worst thing on earth. I studied so hard, day in -day out and feel I did't do well, I was guessing a lot on some pathologies, I didn't even heard of.

I had 193 questions, about 10 on new format calculation, and lots of priorization, who to assess first, who to return the call first, 1 in disaster, lots of medications, all types of pathologies -you name them. Peds, OB-GYN, DM.

This is killing me softly. I don't know what to think, don't know I should cry, run or what. PLEASE PRAY FOR ME!!

Thanks for your support and sharing. It is so good to know there is people out there sharing the same pain. It really helps.

Hi Dspense! I understand how you are feeling. You've done what you can...Try to leave the rest up to God. If I learned anything through this whole NCLEX-RN exam taking experience is that I'm not in control...But God is!

Thanks for sharing your exam experience with us! It's great help to those who are preparing for the exam. You are not alone! Hang in there! Stay strong...Think of positive thoughts...Don't lose hope...I'll be praying for you! I hope you'll get good news! Please keep us posted!!!

Dspence,

Remember all the great things you said to me when I was waiting for my results? I am sure you did fine, I felt the exact same way. Keep your chin up and let us know when you pass. :)

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi Care Bear,

Hi DSEPNCE,

Thanx for the congratulations...how thoughtful. Let me say that I know what u are going through. The wait is TERRIBLE...In my opinion it is worse than taking the actual boards.

I would get up at 2am and 4am and 6am calling the automated line to see if I was in the system and it took an entire week. I stalked my mailman and he thinks I am crazy psycho! I called the NC board of Nursing so many times that I lost count. I disguised my voice...LOL.....ok so I KNOW HOW U FEEL! We all need therapy after the NCLEX!

My advice is to KEEP BUSY! There were times when I almost forgot about it.

I would go for walks in the morning to clear my head...the fresh air is therapeutic.

I admit I was a basket case!...

Then I GAVE IT TO GOD! I GOT IN A QUIET PLACE, I LET GO AND I LET GOD! I GOT SOME ICE CREAM...THE MCDONALD'S M&M MCFLURRY AND I WAS GOOD TO GO....TRY IT. EACH M&M IN THE MCFLURRY IS A PIECE OF THE ANXIETY GOING AWAY AND GOD IS TAKING OVER!

It never left me but I had a sense of peace!

I will pray for you...we all think we failed ....

U probally passed and u are working yourslef over nothing....I know how u feel.

Let us know how it goes

Well, I felt the exact same way you are feeling! I had 140 some questions and after it passed 75, I thought for sure I failed. I wanted the test to be over with, and like you I received a lot of prioritizing, disaster drill, and tons of OB that I had never even HEARD of. I had a lot of " who would you see first, or " if you had to discharge a patient, to make way for an admission which one would you choose" etc.... I know its tough, and to tell you the truth I thought waiting was worse than taking the actual test! I drove myself crazy! I agree with everyone else. Try and keep busy.... my boyfriend tried by taking me out to eat, and to a movie, etc.. but it's really out of your hands and into gods. I hear the first time pass rate is in the 90's so I am sure you did fine! :) Let us know!!!!!! Ill be prayin for ya!

Oh.....Dspence...((((((((((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))))))))

We've all been there. I have been an RN since '81, and I felt EXACTLY the same way after taking my boards (we didn't call it NCLEX then.)

Every single one of my classmates felt that way, too. We were all certain that we failed miserably.

In fact, we all did extremely well.

I am betting you will, as well.

I wil certainly keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Keep usp updated! I am certain you did just fine!

Best wishes. It's hard to leave NCLEX feeling good about yourself. Good luck.

:) :) :) :) I PASSED, I CAN'T BELEIVE IT. THANKS TO GOD. Just got the unofficial report, it felt so nice to see PASS next to my name. My soul came back to my body. These 48 hrs wait were endless. THANKS to everyone for your prayers and support. God Bless you all.

This is a dream come true. After 13 years away from school I thought it will never be possible. Thanks so much.
