I cant keep doing this....

We were specifically told that we can not under any circumstances use PRN help. (money). There is 2 other agencies in our area, one of them is hospital based, whos hospital is sending us all the referrals because of problems with their home care, the other one is new and not getting alot of referrals. Our home care turns away no referral. If we go do an eval on a pt and find that something else needs to be done, (like go to a nursing home...... DHR........) Then we are told "you touched them, they are out patient"

It has been building over the last month or so and only getting worse..

OMG, your agency is just like mine, except that we only covered one county, and we never had to cover the whole county except for rarely on the weekend.

That kind of traveling is too much. I would go to them and say no way. Let the supervisor's do the re-visits, make them take away the revisits at least. You have 2 news, a resumption, and a recert? So four Oases?? That is crazy! Demand OT or a day off in exchange. I'd be out of there if they did that to be on a regular basis, no wonder you were sick!

I put 197 miles on my car today, doing Hedis auditing. But I was home by 4pm!

Our admits counted as two visits. This place is taking advantage of you. Unrealistic work day.

Where I work, 2 admits and 1 recert; or 2 admits and one or 2 skilled visits is enough to be scheduled for one nurse for one day. Tell them to get real, their mismanagement of funds/personnel/time is not your problem; they are over the top in unrealistic expectations!! Don't let them abuse you like that.

Help! I posted on roll call earlier today about some things going on at the agency that I work.... at least 60 hr/wk for the last month....

I have been off since last Friday with the flu.... had an MD excuse until tomorrow....... I transfer my laptop a few min ago to see what tomorrow had in store for me............. 6 patients........ not too bad until I look at them............2 admissions, 1 post hosp, 1 recert and 2 regular visits..... all in 3 different counties......... there are no 2 patients even in the same town together........ I have been doing home care for almost 15 years....... but I think I have had enough........ Im to the point of burn out or either past the point.............

Am I being whiney because Im getting over the flu, is any other agency like this????????

This agency is dumping on you and deep down you know it. Extra hours are expected in home health but the way I count this you are seeing 10 patients plus all of the driving. Look for another job and soon.

Cardio one of the reasons people leave home health is exactly what you have posted. I have done what your doing and it is not fun. Sorry I was late responding.
