Howdy y'all!!!

I'm in the Dallas area and I'm in my next to last semester of a BSN program---graduate May 2004!!!!!!!!!

I agree---the states forum is a great idea.

Hi and good luck to you in school!!

I am an ADN student in Waco. Due to graduate in May 2005. It's the most challenging thing I have ever done and I really do like it!!

My best advice would be to hang in there, find a few friends in class with you, and don't get BEHIND!!!

Again, GOOD LUCK and feel free to PM me if you want!!

I am in the Dallas/Ft. Area, and I am going back to school to be an RN. I have been awarded a scholarship, so I have a job waiting. :)

I have worked as a CMA, and the highest pay I received was $11 w/o benefits offered. So, starting out anywhere near $20 an hour will be a good feeling.

Since it has been over 10 years, I have to take my A&P class over again to apply for the nursing school. I plan on going to North Lake College, or El Centro. If the scholarship gets set up in time, I will start back to the life of studying in January, 2005.

Good luck to all of you starting out, and to you new grads! :)

Hi all!

I live in McKinney and am in my first semester at North Central Texas College in Gainesville. (What a drive!!)

I live in Midland, Texas (100,000 population). Salary starts $17.50 for a new grad. Low cost of living.

This is a great website.

Hey! I am living in Odessa, so howdy neighbor!!! What area are you working in? I'm doing psych, which is pretty rare in this area. Agree with your salary estimate for new grads.

:o

Howdy to you, Neighbor!

I'm in San Angelo getting ready to graduate in May from Angelo State with my ADN.

I'm doing the psych rotation this semester also...I never thoguht I'd want to work at a psych hospital, but now I'm thinking it might not be so bad. What do you think of it?

Good luck to you!!

LOVE IT!!! Never liked doing much of anything else in nsg... it is a specialty onto itself that you either can or cannot do. The only drawback is the lack of opportunities here in West TX but maybe that will change eventually. If you think you like it and do well in it go for it and good luck to you too!

:)

Born and raised in Texas! Grew up in Garland and now am living in Midlothian with my husband and little girl.

I am going to apply to Navarro and at El Centro after this semester.

WOW!!!!! I had no idea there was so many Texas Nurses on here... I am from Joshua 30 minutes, south of Ft Worth...Just applied to Tarleton State and Weatherford college....
