How long did you wait...?

I'm not graduating, but I know upperclassmen nursing students who are. They graduate in May and have scheduled to take the NCLEX exam as early as June or July for the same rationale that you have. It depends on what you want to do immediately after graduating as well; if you're going on to an internship or residency afterwards, it might be best that you wait a little before taking it. Some people I guess look at it as "getting out of the way"; others want to evaluate/study the information more so that they can walk into test day fairly confident. It's all up to you.

Statistically, those that take the NCLEX as soon as possible after graduation have a higher first time pass rate than those who wait. I graduated last week and I will take my NCLEX RN ASAP. Just waiting on the ATT.

Before you take your NCLEX test, you goota submit your application to the state, then you will receive an att from to make an appointment in order to take the test. Sometimes att takes more than a 3 mths to recive. So I i think you should do your paper work once you graduate cuz the process will take 3 to 4 mths. I graduated on dec 08, and still waiting for my att......

I took the NCLEX-PN three weeks after I graduated from my LPN program. My school is really good about sending the certificate of education to the state so I got my ATT really quickly. This time around I felt tired and not really in a big rush so I just sent my papers to the state yesterday and I graduated a month ago. I am doing a virtual ATI review for the next two weeks and I am also studying from Saunder's so I don't expect to forget too much. I hope to take the NCLEX RN by July 1st so 2 and a half months is my goal.

I took it 3 mths after i graduated, I needed a break, wanted to be fully prepared, & only wanted to take it once. Studied 7 wks before & passed w/75 ques. Only you will know when you are truly prepared.

I plan to take schedule the NCLEX as soon as I get my ATT. My school has a mandatory requirement that each graduate take a prep course. Fortunately my school pays for it.

I graduated March 19th and took the NCLEX-RN April 20th. Some people needed a break but I felt that I needed to work off of the momentum of school. Passed in 75 questions! I think the sooner the better for most people...Good luck!

i took my nclex friday @ 200 in the afternoon. im about to lose my mind wandering if i p or f. the machine cut off at 87 or 88 questions. any suggestions if i made it .

I just graduated yesterday, and I'm hoping to take the NCLEX by June 8th. I sent my paperwork in to the state back in April. Does anyone know how long NY usually takes to get you your ATT?
