...back in the day to receive your licence? I just pulled up my renewal confirmation and noted the initial date of licensure- 10/1/1992. And I took the boards the second week of that July!!
I have to laugh when "kids these days" stress over waiting a couple of weeks. (Or 48 hrs, if they decide to pay for expedited results.
So how about it? COBs, how long was your wait?

Yeah- about the same for me, Jedrnurse. I don't remember my LPN boards I took in '84, but when I took my RN boards, it was in July of 90, and I got my results in September.
I remember hearing that if you received a regular business-sized envelope, it meant you passed. However, if you got a big manila envelope, it meant you failed and had to reapply.
An RN buddy of mine told me at the time that this information was false. His wife failed her first attempt and the notice came in a regular business-sized envelope!

Same as you, in 1993.

Heh, when I took my boards, I felt pretty confident because with the computer algorithm I was getting lots of hard questions and SATAs and it stopped at 75. For snacks and giggles, I did the PV "trick". I took my exam 9/22/2010 and my license issue date is 9/23/2010. Not sure how many days before I could see it, though. I did know that I was going to a school that had a 99%+ pass rate.

Same here but 1980! My LPN results arrived on Christmas Eve, 1977- and I cried over whether to open it and ruin Christmas or not!

Mine, approx. ten years ago did not take as long as the OP's--I forget the exact time frame--but it certainly wasn't the next day.
And never for a minute did I think about cheating the system to try and find out if I passed.
75. 9/22/2010 9/23/2010. 99%+
I see that you're really into numbers, CalicoKitty.

I took the registry for the ARRT (x-ray) in June of 1993 and I didn't get my results until about a week before my wedding, so late July. And if you got a big envelope, it contained your certificate but if you got a business envelope, so sorry, you failed. I got the big envelope.
I took my boards in 2011- I paid for quick results so knew the next day.
