How long to get your ATT??

Hi There,

I just graduated last week, and lots of my classmates have already received their ATT's and have scheduled their test dates, I have not!! :uhoh3: Wondering if anyone else has gone through this? I did everything right (or so I think) and now I'm just getting nervous. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

P.S. I live in Mass

I am going through the same thing. All of my classmates have received their ATT except for me. I called Pearson and they said that my state board of nursing hadn't approved me yet so they couldn't send my ATT yet. So, I call the state board of nursing...and the operators just tell me something to the degree of "I don't know why you haven't been approved yet, your background check was passed, you already paid and sent in your photo, I will refer your application to so-and-so." Basically I keep getting the run around. :uhoh3:

Oh my goodness, this is terrible! I keep getting the same thing!! Why does this happen to already paranoid nursing students?? :o Keep me posted with your results! Are you in MA too?

Me and a few other students are having the same problem with maryland BON. We have sent several emails and phone messages with no response back!! I think we are going to drive personally to the BON on Monday of next week if we haven't heard anything. I have a job that is pending my passing the NCLEX.

still waiting for my att from nevada... i hope i can take boards before i am ready to retire..lol has anyone else heard anything...i know patience is a virtue... but my virtue is wearing thin

Check a few things:

1) When you registered with Pearson, you were able to provide EITHER an email address or a physical address to receive your ATT. If you provided an email address, Pearson will send you your ATT electronically IMMEDIATELY after receive notice from your board of nursing that you are eligible. If you chose the snail mail method, your letter will take up to 10 business days.

2) Check the above with www.pearsonvue.com. Log in (using the same info you supplied when you registered, if you did it online) and make sure your email/physical address is listed correctly in your profile.

3) Ask Pearson if they have sent your ATT. If they haven't, the hold-up is with your BON. Call Pearson's NCLEX line at (866) 496-2539. They should be able to tell you if your state's BON has listed you as "eligible to test". If not, call your board to find out why.

I know in my state (NC) I can check the status of my NCLEX application online. It will tell me what's missing (application, school verification, criminal background check). I've been told that once everything at your board is updated, they contact Pearson pretty quickly (matter of 1-2 days).

I have heard a few horror stories so far - board's not marking a new grad as eligible because the transcript was missing a date of graduation or the name of the degree. I've also heard of criminal background checks falling through because the fingerprints were smudged. First, find out what info you are missing (of the three). Then go down the line from there.

I'm in the same boat - my BON has listed me as "complete" on their site, but I have yet to receive my ATT. It took me two weeks for my BON to update my status as "complete" because they were waiting around (literally) to enter my school verification. I spoke with one guy there who had the *#*$( to tell me, "yes we received your school verification but calls like yours are keeping me from entering them into our database". A lot of snarky people at BONs don't ya agree?

Good luck everyone - if all else fails, keep your BON busy by calling and emailing complaints. Eventually someone will figure out it'll be easier just to do it right the first time!

i just went through the same thing as you guys. everyone else from my class had received their ATT and some had their GN permits and i had heard NOTHING!!! so i called the texas BNE, and they told me that they had not received my affidavit of graduation from my school. so i started there. i had my school fax a copy, then had my ATT the next day. so, make sure your school has done their job too!!

I'm still waiting for my ATT also. I just found out that after my daytime orientation, I'll be switching to 12 hours nights in early July. I really wanted to take NCLEX before I have to start messing with my sleep schedule. (Originally, I was going to be working days for the entire summer, and then switch to nights - the shift I was hired to work.)

Why do they bother to tell you that students who take NCLEX right after they finish school do better, when you don't have the option to do so??!! :angryfire I've been doing at least 100 questions a day - usually more - since early May. I'm ready to take the test NOW!!

I feel lucky. My school takes care of all of this for us. They have a little packet that they handed out in class and made us all fill out all the forms, requests for transcripts, etc right then, write all the checks and money orders, and then give the packet to them. They were right on top of it after we graduated. They made sure all the transcripts came to them, they double checked everything, then hand delivered them to the State BON. My school has a reputation of getting their stuff done the fastest, and grads from my school are always the first ones of the schools in the area to get the ATTS and get scheduled to test. It helps that our SON sec. has been doing this for 30 years. She rocks!

I got mine this morning- and then scheduled my test for tomorrow morning!!! Am I crazy? quite possibly.

It took about 2 weeks to get my ATT.
