35 hours before the big test...

Published

:uhoh3: well, here I am, with 35 hours left until the big day... the NCLEX-RN. So I am pretty much freaking out right now, which I understand is normal, but was hoping someone would have some words of wisdom for my major concern. I have been studying for about 2 hours a day for more than two weeks, took the Kaplan Review a month ago, and have been doing question after question, but I am confused!!! I can do Suzannes theory with Saunders, and have been getting over 75% on the chapter tests without reviewing the chapters, but when I take the Kaplan Q-bank tests, I am getting 50-60% ! This is really frusterating me!!! Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated, Thanks! (Hopefully a New RN)
Specializes in none, still looking.

You can never be really prepared for the N-clex, but you have to fess up and just do it

Good luck lucky13! You can do it!

Relax- everyone feels like this before the exam. Remember, there isn't anybody who can ever store every single piece of trivia for every disease and drug! [bTW: what is 'Suzanne's theory with Saunders'?]

Suzanne4 is a moderator here who has a study plan for the NCLEX which utilizes the NCLEX review published by Saunders. See the sticky at the top of the forum entitled 'The first tip of my new study guide.'

Eric & Lucky- kind of you to explain Suzanne's NCLEX tip- sounds like a great one!!! I was just curious about it & Saunders. Hope people checking the NCLEX discussion learn about it and utilize it!!

How did the exam go? Good luck

Well, like everyone says after they take the nclex, I FEEL SO CONFUSED!!! Im not really sure if I should cry or laugh! I got all 265 questions, which I know doesn't mean that I definitly failed, but it sure doesn't reassure me that I passed either! Well, all I can do is wait. 24-48 hours is along time and a wide time frame, hope I don't go crazy first!!! Thanks for all the support, I'll keep ya all posted! Good luck to anyone else that is approaching the big day!

FYI for anyone wondering,

I found out today that i did not pass. It really sucks, lost an awesome job in cardiac icu because that hospital doesn't hire LPN's, not even in other units. Im pretty bummed right now. I used saunders and kaplan, not sure where to go from here. Any advice would be great.

Stay the course. I also failed my first time last month, but I'm taking it again next month. If you got the 265, then the computer had a hard time failing you until it ran out of questions. There are threads where people failed with 265 questions the first time, and then passed with 265 the next time.

Lucky13: I'm so sorry you didn't pass. We never know why things happen...maybe a better job awaits you when you finally do pass. I don't know why it seems that we have to take our lumps sometimes and get humbled...but I know less than stellar students who passed, and really great ones who didn't. You WILL pass the next time!
