HEPARIN QUESTION

Published

Why is heparin given as a bolus before it's given subcutaneously? Someone enlighten me please!

You should be able to easily find the answer to this in your med-surg text. Go take a look and then let us know if you still have further questions.

I forgot to say, no stupid comments like these. If you're not helping then don't reply:cautious:

well I would have to say that Kris's reply was a help.. you would actually learn a lot more and probably never forget it if you were to look for the answer yourself... and it is very easy to find... even on google. :)

Trust me, I googled it. I was afraid that people would say the same thing that you people are saying. If you don't think just posting the answer is easier, then don't reply.

Google is not the same thing.

Don't get snippy with us, dear. When my kids said, "We KNEW you were going to say that!" then what's the obvious response? "Glad I'm consistent."

You can expect to get this sort of response, i.e., "What did you find when you looked in your textbook?" any time you ask homework questions here. We expect nascent professionals to put in more effort to help themselves than just hitting "Send." AN is not Ask Jeeves.

I said I Googled it because SOMEONE told me to Google it, just in case you can't read. And this is not a homework question, it's something for my own knowledge. I don't get it, if you don't want to answer the question, then why bother replying. Shows how selfish you people are if you can't answer a simple questions that apparently, is not rocket science.

It's not selfish and I don't even give answers to my own kids. Look it up and tell us what you think and we'll tell you if you are on the right track.

And and check the attitude at the door.

PS, I googled it and found the answer in 2 of the sources. also, check your med surg book and pharm book.

Is it my imagination or do we seem to be getting a lot of these gratuitously insulting posts by users who signed up specifically for the purpose of antagonizing us?

This thread got started off on the wrong foot by the OP.

Members are just trying to help you. Please do not chastise them for referring you to your books of study. Since you posted in the General Nursing Student forum, it appears you are a student seeking feedback from seasoned nurses. And, in posting here, the members certainly do not mind helping you find an answer. However, as a student, we expect you to do some research and give what you've come up with and then the members will come along and help you some more.

If this is not homework and you are just interested in when to give Heparin, you still need to refer to your texts. And, post what you've found out so far. Then, members will come along and help you.

Will close this thread since it just dissolved.
